Burgandy-filled September Ceresville Mansion Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Elyse + Jeff

Jeff and Elyse met in December 2019 on a dating app. “After that excellent first date, I was very eager to see Elyse again and could not stop telling my coworkers about her.”

“In May 2021, Jeff proposed at one of my favorite places in DC, the Bishops Garden at The National Cathedral. He included one of my closest friends, who hid in the bushes to get pictures of the proposal, and managed to surprise me even though we had already talked seriously about getting engaged.”

90 guests, including a sixteen-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their Ceresville Mansion September wedding. “We mixed our own elements with some from traditional reform Judaism for our ceremony. We had a few Jewish blessings, two secular readings from Jeff’s dad and my mom, and stomped on a glass after exchanging our rings. We also included some of our personalities in the precessional music, which borrowed from Jurassic Park and The Iron Giant, two of our favorite movies.”

Elyse and Jeff chose burgundy and dark blue for their wedding decor, opting for a formal vintage art-deco-style wedding. “We included life-sized cardboard cutouts of our beloved cat and dog, and named our signature drinks after them. I added an inscription to Jeff’s ring that includes a line from our first dance song. We also wrote our vows to each other using another of our shared hobbies, modern calligraphy.”

Elyse is a psychologist and federal government employee, and Jeff is a program management analyst. They reside in Arlington, Virginia.

Kristen and Matthew met in 2010 while attending Morgan State University. “We were both freshmen in the Graves School of Business and Management, so we had a lot of classes together. We started dating in 2012 when we were both coordinators for the program.”

Matthew proposed in April 2021 at the National Arboretum. “He said that we were going to go see the cherry blossoms since I had wanted to go for quite a few years. Matthew brought his sister, who was the photographer for the event. He surprised me at the top of the peak near the eagle’s nest- when I turned around, he was on one knee.”

100 guests, including a 14-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their May 2022 wedding at Ceresville Mansion. “We wanted to make sure that our ceremony focused on Christ being the center and focus of our union together. We had a unity candle as well as communion during our ceremony. We kept it short and sweet.”

“Our wedding was very traditional. Our colors were lilac and plum with a mid-gray accent. We used a lot of linens and flowers to pull everything together. Ceresville has such a floral and traditional look, so we didn’t have to do much to make it come together. We ended the night with an ice cream sundae bar for all of our guests.”

Kristen is an actress and a real estate agent, and Matthew is a financial analyst. They currently reside in Middle River, Maryland.

Shelby and Martin met in 2020 on Tinder. “After a week of talking via text messages, we met in Fells Point, Baltimore, on a blistery January evening and had a 7-hour first date. About mid-way through our date, we simultaneously deleted our Tinder profiles, and we have been together ever since.”

The couple got engaged in 2021 on a ski trip with friends in Colorado. “Martin proposed on top of a 12,000-foot mountain. We decided to get married in the winter of the following year so that we could go skiing for our anniversaries.”

85 guests, including a two-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their winter wedding. “We had a beautiful ceremony outside on the Terrace. We had hoped for snow, but it ended up being a gorgeous, sunny February afternoon. Our flower girl was our adorable 2-year-old Goddaughter and our dogs of honor, Lily & Pepper.”

In lieu of favors, Shelby and Martin made donations to the Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland and The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The couple chose a formal and romantic feel for their wedding decor. “Our wedding colors were blush, ivory, and sage. We went with lots of greenery and White O’Hara roses which have a blush hue to them. We also had a sparkler send-off which was a lot of fun and made for some great photos. We offered late-night snacks to our guests, which was a huge hit: soft pretzels, 7-layer taco dip, and an ice cream crepe station.”

“Our favorite part of the wedding was being able to have everyone together at one location after a long two years of being apart. We danced, ate, drank, laughed, and had an amazing time. Having our two dogs there made our day complete.”

Shelby is a manager for an engineering company, and Martin is a senior system engineer. They currently reside in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Julia and RJ met in 2019 when they were set up for a first date at Memories Charcoal House in Mount Airy. “We were inseparable after that. All it took was one date and we were both hooked.”

The couple got engaged in Myrtle Beach on the Fourth of July in 2020. “We had gone for a walk on the beach. When we got back to our chairs, I told him I was going to go for a dip in the ocean, and he told me he was going to stay back and relax. As I’m walking out of the ocean, I look up, and I see him down on one knee. Talk about surprised. It was the most magical moment.”

100 guests, including a 17-person wedding party, were in attendance for the couple’s late October nuptials at Ceresville Mansion. “Our wedding ceremony was supposed to be outside, but unfortunately, those plans got canceled as it was pouring rain all day. We had one of our best friends marry us and my dad walked me down the aisle. As soon as RJ and I met eyes at the end of the aisle, I watched him get emotional as I walked toward him in my wedding dress. It was such a special moment that I will never forget.”

Both RJ and Julia grew up just outside of Frederick and knew they wanted to be close to home for their big day. “Ceresville Mansion immediately stood out to us for a couple of things, first being the staff. The entire team bent over backward to accommodate all of my requests. They were truly amazing from start to finish.”

As a sweet detail, Julia had a family Bible attached to her bouquet. “Both my grandmother and mother carried this Bible on her wedding day.”

Julia is a Client Service Associate at Stifel Nicolaus and RJ is the owner of Carroll Community Landscape. They currently reside in New Windsor, Maryland.

October Ceresville Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Ryan + Maren

Ryan and Maren met in the fall of 2017 through a mutual friend. “We made plans to grab dinner together, and we decided our roommates could tag along as well. The carpool plans involved a two-door Camaro, so when Ryan had to get out of the car to move the seat up for me to get into the back, he says it was love at first sight. We quickly became and remained, close friends; he never anticipated I’d be interested! After a couple of subtle hints from the roommates, we finally got together, and the rest is history.”

The couple got engaged in November of 2020 when Ryan planned a surprise lunch date in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. “Ryan suggested taking some pictures on the pier, a request very unlike him. After pictures, he slipped up and mentioned that he knew the surprise date would be worth it. Not registering what was going on, he finally dropped to one knee. Both of our families showed up to join us on the pier for a champagne toast.”

120 guests, including a twelve-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their October wedding at Ceresville Mansion, with a traditional Catholic ceremony at Saint Katharine Drexel Church. “When we got engaged, there was no doubt that we wanted to get married in Maryland, even though neither of us is from here. I was born and raised in Delaware, and Ryan in New Jersey. Maryland is where we met and where we were currently living, so we wanted our wedding to be symbolic to us and our relationship, and we wanted our guests to experience that.”

“One of our favorite parts of the day was later in the night when our photographer quickly pulled us outside for a few photos. It was almost like the day was finally still, with us alone outside while our guests were inside enjoying themselves. Thinking back to our day, it seems small but it is a very vivid memory.”

Ryan is an Associate Product Manager and Maren is a Next-Generation Sequencing Laboratory Specialist. They currently reside in Frederick.

Josh and Kristen met on a dating app in 2018. “We agreed to meet for lunch at Chipotle, and we had an instant connection. We spent the rest of the afternoon together, and we have been inseparable ever since.”

Josh proposed in 2020, the day they moved into their first home together. “After we finished moving in the last of our furniture, I was completely surprised to turn around and find him on one knee in the kitchen. It was the perfect start to our life together.”

120 guests, including an eleven-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their October wedding at Ceresville Mansion. “My mom walked me down the aisle, and that was very special to me. We stood under the pergola, in front of the reflecting pool, with our bridesmaids and groomsmen beside us. My sister made me a beautiful locket for my bouquet. Our dad passed away when we were young, and she made a locket with his picture, and his handwriting so that he could be a part of the day.”

The couple chose rust orange and burgundy with gold accents for their decor. “We had floral centerpieces in simple glass cylinder vases, and gold mercury votives on the tables. We wanted our decor to feel simple, but elegant.”

“Immediately after the ceremony, we took pictures with our wedding party. We were so excited to be married and celebrate with our friends- and instead of posing us, our photographer captured us exactly as we were with drinks in hand, laughing, and having the best time. We loved our reception too- it was one big party.”

Kristen is an occupational therapist and Josh is a contracting specialist. They currently reside in Frederick.

Dancing Under the Stars- a Ceresville September wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Katy and Adam

Katy and Adam met in 2014 at the University of Delaware. “Mutual friends helped us find our way back to each other after the semester ended and we immediately connected over our academic interests, sense of humor, and Maryland roots.”

After almost five years together the couple got engaged in 2018 at the United States Botanic Gardens. “My instincts told me he’d be proposing that day. Our plan was to visit the Botanic Gardens and then the National Christmas Tree display – which is where I’d anticipated the proposal. Turns out Adam had other plans and surprised me by proposing at the Gardens. Friends rushed to hug us as I regained composure.”

One hundred fifteen guests, including a ten-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their September wedding at Ceresville Mansion. “My parent’s pastor officiated the ceremony beautifully. Adam’s uncles and my Poppop read poems – one of which was read bilingually to honor Adam’s Italian roots.”

The couple chose a color palette of dusty blue, maroon, and cream with accents of greenery for their wedding decor. “Ceresville Mansion oozes elegant and romance with a hint of whimsy, so our wedding decor and florals reflected just that.”

“Due to COVID, we prioritized safety for our guests. We requested vaccination or a negative test if vaccination was not possible. We additionally utilized social distancing wristbands, which allowed guests to select a colored band that aligned with their comfort in being in close proximity to others. This allowed for guests to navigate COVID-comfort non-verbally, which I think really helped people enjoy the moment, relax, and feel safe.”

Katy is a Speech Therapist for Montgomery County Public Schools and Adam is an analyst for the Department of Defence. They reside in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Elisabeth and Aaron met in 2014 and started a long-distance relationship after meeting through mutual friends and playing video games online together. “After a year of long-distance, we wanted to be closer together, and have been living together ever since.”

“Aaron proposed on what seemed a regular Tuesday afternoon. I was on a call with a friend, one of my would-be bridesmaids, in my pajamas. He came home from work early, texted my friend to have me turn around, and he was on his knee with the ring when I looked. I never saw it coming, especially not on such a menial evening, and I think that’s what made it perfect for us.”

43 guests including a two-person wedding party helped the couple celebrate their January nuptials. “I’ve dreamed of Ceresville since I was a little girl. I grew up in the Frederick Area, and Ceresville was always that quintessential picturesque place. Our colors were navy, dusty blue, and pink. We wanted a frosty, winter feel.”

Elisabeth’s bouquet had her great-grandmother’s engagement necklace attached. “We also made sure to include a memorial table, as I lost an aunt and grandfather during the wedding planning, and my grandmother passed four days before the wedding. Aaron and I aren’t dancers, but we choreographed our first dance ourselves. Everyone loved it and still talks about it months later.”

Elisabeth is a chemist in Baltimore, and Aaron is a store manager. They currently reside in Parkville, Maryland.

Erin and Michael met in 2017 and started dating soon after. Michael proposed in October 2019 on a rooftop at sunset in Bethesda, Maryland. “We met at church. Michael says I asked him out but I think it’s the opposite.”

Seventy guests were in attendance, including a ten-person wedding party for their November wedding. “We were married in a Christian ceremony with readings by both of our grandmothers.”

The couple chose pink, green, and white for their wedding decor. “I wanted a classic romantic feel Ceresville Mansion reminded me of the house in The Notebook, which is my favorite movie. I loved the outdoor scenery and classic feel of the mansion.

Erin is an assistant district manager for military housing and Michael is a hospital corpsman in the Navy. They currently live in Oceanside, California.

September Sunday Brunch Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Kaitlin and Kevin

Kaitlin and Kevin met on a dating app and went on their first date in Washington, DC. “We talked for hours over drinks. We were out so long, Kevin wound up getting a parking ticket at the metro. I thought that would end things on a sour note and there’d be no second date – but he quickly texted me that it had been totally worth it.”

Kevin proposed while the couple was out to dinner with friends. “Just before dessert, Kevin began retelling a humorous story from a date we had at the same restaurant over two years ago. On that date, Kevin was so enraptured by his after-dinner coffee that he didn’t see the check on the table. When I asked if he wanted to split it, he thought I was talking about the coffee and said, ‘No, order your own.’ At the conclusion of his story, he turned to me and said, ‘While I didn’t want to share my coffee with you then, I would love to share the rest of my life with you.’”

Forty-seven guests celebrated the couple’s September wedding, including a six-person wedding party. “Our flower girl Sylvie walked down with our ‘groomsdog’ Theodore and stole the show. For our personal thoughts, I read him my light-hearted but sincere sentiments, and he read a love poem that he wrote.”

Kaitlin and Kevin chose to have a Sunday brunch wedding. “We embraced the brunch theme through the menu with a chicken and waffles station and custom mimosas and had personalized ‘Sunday morning wedding newspapers’ which served as programs and a source of entertainment for guests.”

Face masks for the guests were handmade by Kevin’s mother in their wedding colors. Guests also received a “Spread Love, Not Germs” hand sanitizer upon arrival.

Kaitlin is a regulatory analyst and Kevin is a program manager. They currently reside in Reston, Virginia.

Adam and Taylor met in the Spring of 2016, at an Annapolis dock bar through mutual friends. “I really wasn’t looking to date anyone at the time and basically had to be forced to go out. However, I quickly warmed up to Adam’s charms.”

A few days before Christmas in 2018, the couple went to downtown Annapolis for what Taylor thought was some last-minute gift shopping. “Adam pointed out the Christmas tree downtown before we started shopping and I went to snap a photo of it. Little did I know that he was trying to get me into a predetermined spot in front of the tree to propose so that a hidden photographer could capture everything. After the proposal, Adam had arranged for some of my closest friends and family, including my 90-year-old grandmother, to share brunch with us. It was so much fun and unexpected.”

135 guests, including nine bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen helped the couple celebrate their nuptials at Ceresville Mansion in January 2020. “I absolutely loved the ceremony backdrop at Ceresville, with the flowers and candles adorning the fireplace mantle, and the chandelier reflecting in the mirror.”

“When we first spoke to Ceresville, we told them that the vibe we were going for was ‘elegant, but fun.’ It was black-tie optional, yet anything but stuffy. The colors were mostly whites and ivories, with a touch of dusty lavender. I used a mix of metallics for jewelry and decor to give everything a more vintage feel.”

Adam is a senior program manager for an aerospace and defense company and Taylor is a program analyst in the anti-money laundering field. They currently reside in Annapolis.

New Year’s Eve Ceresville Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Kellie + Michael

Michael and Kellie met on Tinder in 2014. “We were each other’s first and last Tinder date.”

Michael planned a surprise trip for Kellie’s 30th Birthday that ended with a proposal. “He did not tell me where we were going, and we picked up two of my closest friends on the way to the airport. Upon landing, we drove to Palm Springs, California, and stayed in a beautiful Airbnb which my friends had decorated for a 30th celebration. The last night in Palm Springs we headed to get dinner at a restaurant. Once we got there, we headed away from the restaurant, and instead down a hiking path for a group picture. Michael pulled me up onto a rocky outlook, played one of my favorite songs, pulled up a Tinder-themed slideshow of some of the best pictures from our years together, and asked me to marry him.”

123 guests, including a fourteen-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their 2019 New Year’s Eve nuptials. “Our officiant was our very close friend who told the story of our adventures together and journey to this special moment. We exchanged our personally written vows that included many laughs and many tears.”

Kellie and Michael used accents of stars and sparkles to tie together their wedding decor. “The guests were asked to wear black tie festive– we just wanted everyone to feel beautiful and special in what made them feel best. Each table setting was a unique piece borrowed from the bride and grooms family.”

The countdown to celebrate the new year had everyone on the dance floor, complete with a confetti cannon as the clock struck midnight. “The dancing was even more fun after that with all the confetti being kicked up on the floor.”
Kellie is an event planner and Michael is an energy scientist. They currently reside in Arlington, Virginia.

Ryan and Kimberly met during a trying time in Ryan’s life. “God gathered us together at a time where we needed each other the most- when I was suffering from addiction. I actually met Kimberly at the rehabilitation center that she worked in. When I was discharged she checked up on me and saw something in me. She believed in me and I’ve been clean for three years.”

Ryan proposed to Kimberly on her 34th birthday. “He surprised me in front of my family after he made me a delicious meal.”

Fifty guests were in attendance for their February 2020 nuptials, including a twelve-person wedding party. “It was a small, intimate gathering with our close family and friends. We did a sand ceremony to include the children as we are a blended family. I wanted to include them so they all felt special.”

The couple wanted an elegant feel for their wedding and went with a color palette of rose gold, burgundy, navy. “It was beautiful everything came together so well. We had special seats for my late father and Ryan’s late mother. We had a sparkler send-off that made for beautiful pictures. We were so busy at the reception, we didn’t end up eating our dinner. When we left we stopped at Rutter’s and got food in my wedding dress and his tux.”

Kimberly is a production control clerk and Ryan is a cook. They currently reside in Waynesboro.

December Ceresville Holiday-themed Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Joe + Adrianne

Joe and Adrianne attended high school together but ended up showing back up in each other’s lives later on. “We went out a few times and took a trip to Aruba. After that, the rest is history, we’ve been together for close to five years.”

“After we had our daughter, Marceline, we knew we wanted to get married. Joe proposed the day we closed on our first family home together, after a celebratory dinner in downtown Frederick.”

One hundred guests, including a six-person wedding party, helped the couple to celebrate their December 2019 nuptials. “We had a traditional procession into a handfasting ceremony, which Joe’s father officiated. It made the whole event feel personal.”

Joe and Adrianne chose to be unique in their wedding decor. “We said to each other that we wanted the look of a classic Christmas theme in black white and gold, mixed with the Addams Family, Victorian, and just a little spooky.”

The couple was nervous about their first dance in front of so many people. “We put out the invitation for everyone to come dance with us after the first verse of the song. Kevin and Megan met in a high school library over 10 years ago. “When we sat across from each other, we had no idea that we would one day marry each other in front of our closest friends and family.”

Kevin proposed to Megan on a hike at the Monocacy Aqueduct with their dog, Max. “I didn’t know was that Max’s vest contained an engagement ring Kevin had picked out weeks before. We walked for a while and eventually stopped to take pictures as a family. Instead of setting a timer for our camera, Kevin pressed play and got the entire proposal on camera.”

75 guests attended their August nuptials, including a 12-personal wedding party. “A few raindrops fell as we read our vows, but no one remembers those drops. Everyone, however, remembers the teardrops falling from Kevin’s face – he was a little emotional. We were announced husband and wife, we kissed, and our niece made the entire crowd laugh by screaming, ‘runaway groom!’”

The couple chose burgundy and champagne for their wedding decor colors. “We wanted our guests to feel welcomed, but most importantly, we wanted our guests to feel safe because of COVID-19 concerns. This was a very important event for our families and many hours went into making the day possible.” The two left the venue via a sparkler send-off.

Megan is a counseling intern at FCPS and Kevin is a paralegal. They currently reside in Frederick.

Matt proposed during a winter photoshoot that his mother had set up. “Matt didn’t tell anyone that he had planned to propose during the shoot, but was hoping his mom could capture my genuine reaction and the moment. When Matt got down on one knee, he said, ‘Are we getting married or what’ in true Matt fashion. His thoughtfulness to capture that in photos for us was the greatest gift. I’m so happy I can look back at the exact moment our lives changed forever.”

From the music to my grandfather, to seeing my handsome Marine as I walked down the aisle, was truly the most beautiful thing.”

The couple chose a semi-formal theme for their wedding. “We wanted our guests to be comfortable in case it was a hot September day, but to also class it up some for the elegant vibe Ceresville Mansion gives off. We didn’t have a specific theme, but our colors were wine, champagne, and soft green. I enjoyed the small details of the wedding. The signs that were handmade, the donut stand Matt made, and the candles my mom and I made. The personal touches are some of my favorites.”

Matt is a Marine and a mason. Haley is an embryologist. They currently reside in Westminster, Maryland.

Samantha and Joseph met while working at a restaurant and both attending Frostburg State University. “We were good friends for two years before he decided to make his move in 2014.”

The couple dated for four years before Joseph proposed in 2019. “I knew I met the girl I was supposed to marry long before the actual proposal. We had only been dating for a few weeks and were driving from Frostburg to Silver Spring for me to meet her family and I just knew. Everything just felt right being with her.”

One hundred and fifty guests, including a twelve-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their November nuptials at Ceresville Mansion. “We asked a family friend to marry us. We loved having someone we knew to join us as husband and wife. Joe and I were in our world and felt like we were the only two in the room. After we had our first kiss, My uncle and cousin performed the ceremony music as we walked out holding hands with the biggest smiles.”

The couple went for a timeless semi-formal feel with a “splash of holiday magic” for their wedding theme. “The holidays are my favorite time of the year. The mansion had all the wood-burning fireplaces going, candles, a Christmas tree in the front entrance, twinkly light Christmas trees for the reception, and the pergola was decorated with greenery and garland.”

Joseph is a financial management analyst and Samantha is a data sustainment specialist. They currently reside in Walkersville.

In the fall of 2011Brooke was a sophomore at the University of Maryland auditioning to be a campus tour guide. “I was lucky enough to be one of the judges for her try-out, and as she started dropping fun facts about what our campus had to offer, I was smitten. We were paired up together as guides, she as my trainee, and spent every Thursday sharing our love for UMD with visitors. By the end of the semester, we realized giving tours together would soon be over, but we didn’t want to stop seeing each other. So, I asked her to go steady that winter and we’ve been inseparable ever since.”

Daniel proposed to Brooke in the winter of 2018. “Winter has always been a special time for us and I knew proposing to her during that time of year would be a magical moment we would never forget. We had been talking about it for a while, but Brooke notoriously figures out all of my surprises, so I knew that this would completely catch her off guard.”

100 guests, including a six-person bridal party, helped the couple celebrate their December wedding day. “Our ceremony took place outside at dusk until twinkling star lights and surrounded by Christmas lights. We wanted to make sure both of our families felt very included so we both walked our parents down the aisle with us.”

The couple wanted an “Elegant Christmas with a touch of magic” feel for their wedding. “We’ve been describing it as the perfect hallmark Christmas movie wedding. We wanted our guests to not only feel cozy and warm with our hot cocoa bar, the multiple fireplaces lit, and the candles everywhere, but also feel that sense of magic that Dan and & have always felt about each other.”

Daniel is an Assistant Director of Admissions at George Washington University and Brooke is a Government Relations Professional at Deloitte. They currently reside in Silver Spring.

Latoya and Renee had been following one another on Instagram for several years, and while Renne knew instantly Latoya was someone she wanted to know better, they hadn’t interacted much on the social platform. “I spontaneously messaged Latoya in hopes she did not forget about me since we hadn’t spoken since 2014. The conversation sparked instantly, and from that day on Latoya and I have been inseparable.”

Latoya and Renee’s father had been planning the proposal when he suddenly passed away. “I knew I had to come up with something that tied him to it.” Latoya planned a dinner at a winery with family.

“When we all arrived, there was a private table for us to be seated and everyone had a quote in front of them in a cup. Once it got to me to read my quote, I purposely didn’t have a quote in my cup, So I turned to her aunt and asked if I could just talk from my heart. I grabbed Latoya’s hand and said, “You know how I always say I can’t live without you? Will you marry me?”

Lauren and Michael began texting one another at the urging of their mutual friend, who was sure they would be a perfect match. The two talked by text and phone for days and agreed to meet up for lunch on campus at Howard Community College, where they were both attending. The two continued to meet up and made it official a few weeks later.

Michael proposed to Lauren in Chicago after she had run the Chicago Marathon. “Dozens of pictures and family phone calls ensued after that. It really was an incredible weekend.”

The couple had 150 guests in attendance for their June nuptials, including seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen. “We worked together with our officiant to create a ceremony that consisted of readings that we felt perfectly depicted our unique journey. Our wedding vows were secret from each other until the ceremony.”

Lauren and Michael chose plum, gray, and cream for their “elegant vintage” themed wedding. “I had been using Pinterest a lot during the planning process. It was nice to see my thoughts and wedding desires in person.”

When asked what her favorite part of the wedding was, Lauren shared, “it was definitely the reception. Our DJ nailed it. Everyone was on the dancefloor.”

The couple also had guests from around the globe to celebrate their special day. “We had family and friends come from all over: Nigeria, California, Massachusetts, Michigan, Canada, and Florida. It was great to have all the people we love from all over in the same room. You could feel the love.”

Lauren is a social worker and Michael is a personal trainer. They currently reside in Ellicott City.

The wedding was a blend of cultures. “One of my bridesmaids came all the way from Ukraine to be at my wedding. With the Russian speaking crowd shouting ‘Gorko!’, which means ‘bitter’ and is also a prompt for the newlyweds to kiss, Latin music blasting all night and every single guest unable to sit down for even a second during the party, it was a crazy fun event all of us will never forget.”

Olga wore three separate dresses on her wedding day- one for the ceremony, a second for the first dances, and a third one, “was a fun fringe dress for our salsa partner dance to fire up the dance floor before the party began. Ironically, I was the one with dancing skills and coached my husband to do the routine, even though he’s from Latin America and I’m from Eastern Europe.”

Olga is in finance and Fernando is in consulting. They currently reside in Arlington, Virginia.

As soon as I walked in I noticed my mother and stepdad and said, ‘What are y’all doing here on date night?’ And in the midst of that comment, I almost walked over Ronald who was already on one knee with a ring box open.”

“My favorite element of wedding planning was figuring out how to add in our “hidden Mickeys” to go with our Disney theme. We wanted it to look classy and elegant, so it wasn’t overboard with Disney. My husband and I both worked at Disney, so it is a large part of our lives, but we still wanted it to be subtle.”

When asked what her favorite part of the wedding was, Emily shared, “I loved seeing everyone! Especially when Time Warp came on, and everyone got up and did the dance. We had a blast.”

Emily is a teacher and James- is works in quality control at Paragon Bioservices. They currently reside in Frederick.

Maura noted that her bridesmaids and her mother helped to design all the decor, which made it even more special. “I loved decorating with greenery and lanterns and putting up a pinecone wreath my grandmother had made.”

When asked why they chose Ceresville Mansion for their wedding, maura shared that “Ceresville had a beautiful atmosphere and divided the distance between our homes since we lived long distance until we got married.”

The couple had 200 guests in attendance at their Ceresville Mansion wedding. “We wanted to get married outside, but also wanted somewhere with a good indoor option,” Frances shared. Thankfully they were able to say their vows outdoors as planned. Four groomsmen and two bridesmaids made up the couple’s bridal party.

Frances and Travis chose a color palette of blue and green for their reception. To round out the evening, the couple had a unique getaway. “My dream car, which I only recently bought a few years ago, made a star performance. She’s a 1955 Buick Roadmaster, red and white, and I got her running in time for the wedding. I also got to drive us away, and had the old-fashioned cans and balloons tied to the bumper.”

Travis is a paralegal and Frances is a technical writer. They currently live in Washington, DC.

My father and our dear friend read from the Bible. We had a rose ceremony where we gave a rose to our mothers as Ave Maria was played on the flute.”

The couple wanted a timeless feel to their wedding. “I wanted a classic, vintage wedding. Barn weddings are so popular now, but we wanted to have a traditional wedding with beautiful flowers. When I visited Ceresville I fell in love with everything”

The bride is a Dentist at Hagerstown Smiles and the groom is a Senior Wealth Advisor with RBC Wealth Management. They currently reside in Frederick.

Romantic Moment-Filled Wedding at Ceresville Mansion :: Christine + Rich :: Real Frederick Wedding

Christine Calimlim & Richard met through a mutual friend during a Wizards basketball game. “We sat a seat apart from one another but never went beyond hellos at that time,” Christine shared.

More than a year later they both attended a Young Adults Retreat held by McLean Bible Church. “We recognized each other during the ice cream social. Out of 500 attendants, we we were assigned to the same dining group. We dated two years before we got married.”

While many couples see each other before the ceremony, Rich and Christine decided against it. Instead they began their wedding day with prayer together. “Our photographer and videographer made arrangements for us to meet in a room without seeing each other – standing back-to-back on either side of an open door and reaching out to hold each other hands as we prayed together. It was one of the most special moments of our day.”

In an outdoor ceremony at Ceresville Mansion, the bride’s eldest brother walked her down the aisle and her sister stood in place for her mother as Christine’s parents had both passed away from cancer. “We made special tributes throughout the whole ceremony and reception in memory of the my parents.”

The flower girl and ring bearer were the bride’s children. “The groom surprised us all with special vows he made for the kids taking on the role as their father.”

The couple had a matron of honor, six bridesmaids, a best man and six groomsmen. 180 guests were in attendance at their outdoor ceremony.

The couple decided on a “romantic” color theme- a blush and gold palette carried through all the decor. In place of wedding favors, donations were made to the American Cancer Society.

Christine is a Registered Nurse and Rich is a Mortgage Loan Originator. They currently reside in Clarksburg.

Catherine and Thomas met while Attending Linganore High School. “I remember meeting freshman year in English but he says we met junior year of high school. We were in the same class club, and he got my number from a mutual friend,” said Catherine. The two began dating in 2009. Thomas left Maryland to attend art school in Chicago, but the two continued to date long distance for five years.

Impending rain threatened their outdoor ceremony at Ceresville Mansion, but stopped right as the ceremony began. The couple had six bridesmaids and six groomsmen in their wedding party. 130 guests were in attendance.

“When the pastor said ‘you may kiss the bride’ my husband did not wait the two seconds we were instructed to the day prior so the pastor would be out of the pictures. Then we had to kiss again.”

The couple, having dated since they were 16, had many photographs to share of relationship. Photographs were sprinkled throughout the wedding reception of their seven year courtship.

The groom’s band, The Belvederes, drove from Chicago to Maryland to perform at the wedding reception. The band played the first dance, the father-daughter and mother-son dances. “They brought such joy and life to the day and made it even more special because they came all that way to support their friend.”

On each table the couple provided anniversary cards. Guests were asked write memories from the day or well wishes to the newlyweds to read on their future anniversary dates. The wedding favors were drumstick pencils, a homage to the couple’s vocations- Thomas is a drummer and Caroline is a teacher.

Thomas is originally from New Market, and Catherine from Mt.Airy. They currently live in Chicago. The couple honeymooned after the wedding in Ireland.

The Proposal: “We went for a walk by the lake near his house to a weeping willow tree. He explained how much he loved me and wanted to be with me forever. At first I asked if he was being serious, and then when he got the ring out I shook my head yes. I was so surprised I didn’t start crying until we started walking back to his house.”

Advice to other couples: “Enjoy the engagement as much as possible, and didn’t stress out over planning. The day goes by way too fast, and try to enjoy every minute of it.”

“I have some great news for youuuuu” the planner sang to Maggie as she popped her head into the bridal suite. We had all been listening to the wind and rain batter the fogged window panes for a while, and when the planner exclaimed that the forecast had shifted and the storm was on its way out for the rest of the day, we all exhaled a collective sigh of relief.

Maggie and Brian vowed to spend the rest of their lives together at Ceresville Mansion, just outside Frederick. The ivy-woven altar, the lush greenery and classic architecture of the mansion surrounding it, and even the clouds that danced above us after the storm… it was all enough to set a tone of excitement and romance as Maggie slipped into her fairytale gown. While Maggie enjoyed the company of her adoring bridesmaids and family, Brian and his groomsmen put the finishing touches on their swanky getups in the room across the hall. After the storm kindly made its way elsewhere, Maggie and Brian were ready for their intimate first look. Brian had a chance to marvel at his stunning bride, and they shared a few quiet moments alone before everything got started. From then on, the day was a whirlwind of happy tears, joyous embraces from loved ones, and a heck of a dance party.

Romantic Ceresville Mansion Wedding :: Xin + Xiaoyu’s Real Frederick Wedding

Xin and Xiaoyu’s wedding was super romantic and dreamy! Both the bride and groom got ready at Ceresville Mansion. They decided to do a “first look” before the ceremony. (We love first looks!)

The ceremony was intimate and was held indoors with beautiful florals throughout. The bride was brought down the aisle by her father and given away to her groom. Once the officiant shared some beautiful insights on the importance of marriage the bride and groom then partook in a sand mixing ceremony to symbolically express their love and the act of two becoming one in marriage. Xin and Xiaoyu then shared heartfelt vows and exchanged rings.

After bridal portraits were taken everyone made their way into the reception space which was decorated with splashes of white and red and had uplighting all around. When Xin and Xiaoyu were announced into their reception they were toasted by their parents, family and friends. The couple then cut their wedding cake and shared dinner with their guests. Once the couple shared their first dance, the guests joined in to dance the evening away. To end the night, Xin and Xiaoyu exited Ceresville through a sea of bubbles and then they were off to their honeymoon!

We both think we can be our true selves when we are with each other, so getting married was a natural decision for us. Although the wedding planning process can be stressful at times, we enjoyed every bit of it as we got to spend many intimate times together, getting to know each other better and collaborating towards the biggest event of our lives so far. Time seemed to just fly by and before we knew it, our big day had finally come. From the early morning all the way to our walk down the aisle, the whole day seemed so magical that I wished that it would never end. Our favorite part of the day was definitely the first look. We’d like to thank our photographer who arranged the first look with my husband and with my dad at the best place in the venue. I can’t forget my husband’s look when he turned around to see me!
We visited 4 venues and all of them are in Frederick area. We love Frederick area as it mixes history and romance. We chose Ceresville mansion as we love their environment. More importantly, we love their services! To other couples: wedding planning could be a stressful thing, but as long as communicate well with your future husband/wife to be, the process could be a memorable time and help kick start your journey into life together!
