Romantic June Antrim Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Stephanie + Jake

Stephanie and Jake first met at church, then went on a hike with mutual friends a week later. “We spent the entire time talking to one another.”

In December 2019, Jake and Stephanie went to Old Rag mountain for a day hike. “I thought it was unusual for just the two of us to be going, but assumed it was because we hadn’t been in a while. We decided to take the trail backward to hit the peak of the mountain first. For December it was an unusually warm day but super windy at the top. I was walking toward an edge with Jake behind me when I heard him say ‘babe, I just can’t wait any longer.’ Confused, I turned around and saw him on one knee with the ring in his hand. I was pretty surprised but of course, said yes.”

The couple celebrated their June nuptials outdoors at Antrim 1844, with a ten-person wedding party. “I was looking for something that didn’t necessarily look like a wedding venue. I wanted something that was outside and remote but was elegant and romantic. We had our ceremony outside in the Secret Garden. It was the perfect spot; we had flower ropes hanging off the arching branch of the tree we got married under. Flower petals lightly lined the aisle and we really took advantage of the surrounding scenery.”

“My husband and I took a few minutes to ourselves during the reception to enjoy the significance of the day with just the two of us; I think it’s something every couple should try to find a few seconds to do on their wedding day.”

Stephanie is a nurse and Jake is a CPA. They currently reside in Frederick.

Ryan and Kimberly met during a trying time in Ryan’s life. “God gathered us together at a time where we needed each other the most- when I was suffering from addiction. I actually met Kimberly at the rehabilitation center that she worked in. When I was discharged she checked up on me and saw something in me. She believed in me and I’ve been clean for three years.”

Ryan proposed to Kimberly on her 34th birthday. “He surprised me in front of my family after he made me a delicious meal.”

Fifty guests were in attendance for their February 2020 nuptials, including a twelve-person wedding party. “It was a small, intimate gathering with our close family and friends. We did a sand ceremony to include the children as we are a blended family. I wanted to include them so they all felt special.”

The couple wanted an elegant feel for their wedding and went with a color palette of rose gold, burgundy, navy. “It was beautiful everything came together so well. We had special seats for my late father and Ryan’s late mother. We had a sparkler send-off that made for beautiful pictures. We were so busy at the reception, we didn’t end up eating our dinner. When we left we stopped at Rutter’s and got food in my wedding dress and his tux.”

Kimberly is a production control clerk and Ryan is a cook. They currently reside in Waynesboro.

James Rogers kept his proposal to Hilary Phipps short and sweet. “We were at dinner at a BBQ restaurant in Pikesville, and Jamie said, ‘will you pass the chips and will you also marry me?’”

Eight guests were in attendance for their September 2020 wedding, including a four-person wedding party. “Covid-19 really threw a wrench into our plans. Originally we were going to have a much larger wedding but then the pandemic happened and we had to downsize. I think my favorite part was that we did it together.”

The couple chose a color palette of emerald, mint, and burgundy for their wedding decor. “We wanted a really low key, laid back wedding. We had a short ceremony and dancing and desserts at Tenth Ward and then walked downtown to our favorite ice cream store, the Pop Shop in our wedding clothes. So many people stopped to congratulate us, stopping their cars in the street and shouting well-wishes. After milkshakes at the Pop Shop, we headed back to our Airbnb, where we had a catered lunch from Il Porto in the backyard.”

Hilary is a dialysis technician and James works at Chaps Pit Beef. They currently reside in Frederick.

Ruetten-Lowe Wedding

It is with Joy that we, Barbara Allen and stepfather Keith Low announce the recent wedding of our lovely daughter, Cori Ruetten to our charming son-in-law, Steven Lowe, the son of Liz and Steven Lowe Sr. of Severn, MD.

The two exchanged vows on Oct 24, 2020, in an intimate and COVID safe ceremony at The American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD.

Cori and Steve met at UMBC in 2013 while they were voraciously pursuing their education and easily became involved. Liz recalls the first time Steve brought Cori home that she knew that “she was the one”. We felt the same way about Steve!

The newlyweds are employed in Frederick and also make Frederick their home along with their cat Hank.

Carson-Marquis Wedding

Brittany Nikole Carson and Jared Wayne Marquis wed on October 26, 2020 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The couple met at the University of Louisiana during a beginning-of-semester picnic for the local American Meteorological Society.

The bride’s sister, Melissa Carson of Frederick, and the couple’s friend, Nick Gapp of Fargo, ND, stood for the couple as witnesses in the intimate wedding. The ceremony was also attended by the bride’s sister’s fiancé, Dan Malooly of Frederick. The wedding took place on the couple’s 10th anniversary of dating. Jared’s hometown is Houston, Texas, and is the son of Wayne Marquis of Katy, Texas and Nancy Marquis of Houston, Texas. Brittany’s hometown is Middletown, Maryland, and is the daughter of John and Cristina Carson of Williamsport, Maryland. Brittany recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with her M.S. in Atmospheric Science and Jared plans to graduate from the University of North Dakota with his PhD in Atmospheric Science in 2021.

Manning-Zetts Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Manning are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Mattalin Mae Manning to Adam Gregory Zetts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Zetts, on October 16th.

The couple first met while volunteering at Church of the Redeemer, Frederick. They were engaged last spring at Adam’s favorite spot in the Eastern Shore.

Grandparents in attendance were Mrs. Loretta Manning, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Shirley Bohn. 120 guests were in attendance, with a 14-person wedding party, including siblings and friends.

They honeymooned in Disneyworld and Key Largo.

Clifford and Pauline Celebrate 65 years

Clifford and Pauline are proudly celebrating 65 years of marriage and a life filled with family. They had 4 children of their own and adopted four additional children from their 20 plus years of providing foster care for countless children. Clifford worked for Safeway for 43 years to provide for the family. Once the kids were all school age, Pauline returned to the workplace, where she continued to give love and care to children as a Montgomery County Public School Healthroom Technician. The Strobel family raised their family in Montgomery County, MD, and then moved to Rohrersville, MD, to enjoy a slower retirement way of life. The couple now enjoys their 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Kimberly and Kristyn met online as they both finished up their last semesters in college. “A year and a half later we moved down to North Carolina to pursue our law enforcement careers. We have now been together for over five years.”

Kristyn planned out a perfect proposal at a local Christmas tree farm. “I found a photographer in North Carolina who helped me plan our surprise engagement photoshoot. I knew if I told Kim to wear a nice outfit for something I had planned she would know something was up. Instead, I told her that I wanted to get professional pictures taken for a Christmas card that year. The photographer captured those moments that we will cherish for a lifetime. We knew we were not in a rush to get married. We enjoyed being engaged for an entire year before even starting to plan.”

120 guests were in attendance for their outdoor September 2019 nuptials, including a twelve-personal wedding party. “The wedding party was transported to our ceremony site by hayride after guests had already arrived. Koozies and beverages were stationed at the site for the ceremony. Both of our parents accompanied each of us as we walked down the aisle and Kim’s uncle officiated the ceremony.”

The couple chose navy and blush as their decor colors and implemented a rustic theme to complement their venue, Caboose Farm. “We incorporated sunflowers and wood accents. Our wedding had a semi-formal feel and utilized outdoor space for the ceremony.”

The wedding band, Pork Chops and Ham Hocks, were their good friends from Raleigh. “It was one of the best things about our wedding. They completely nailed the entertainment for the evening and learned several songs at our request. They performed our first dance live which was such a personal touch.”

Kimberly and Kristyn are both police officers with the Raleigh Police Department in North Carolina.

Joe and Adrianne attended high school together but ended up showing back up in each other’s lives later on. “We went out a few times and took a trip to Aruba. After that, the rest is history, we’ve been together for close to five years.”

“After we had our daughter, Marceline, we knew we wanted to get married. Joe proposed the day we closed on our first family home together, after a celebratory dinner in downtown Frederick.”

One hundred guests, including a six-person wedding party, helped the couple to celebrate their December 2019 nuptials. “We had a traditional procession into a handfasting ceremony, which Joe’s father officiated. It made the whole event feel personal.”

Joe and Adrianne chose to be unique in their wedding decor. “We said to each other that we wanted the look of a classic Christmas theme in black white and gold, mixed with the Addams Family, Victorian, and just a little spooky.”

The couple was nervous about their first dance in front of so many people. “We put out the invitation for everyone to come dance with us after the first verse of the song. Once this happened, the room just felt like pure love, with everyone dancing together around us. A moment we will both treasure.”

Joe is a video game developer and Adrianne is a salon owner. They reside in Frederick.

September Tenth Ward Pop-Up Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Brittany and Josh

Joshua and Brittany were high school sweethearts, and have been together since they met eleven years ago. “We both played sports and are very competitive when it comes to each other and that stood out for me. Even though we were totally different, opposites attract, and that’s what brought us together.”

Joshua proposed to Brittany in New York City. “I wanted to take Brit to New York City during the holiday season to see all the Christmas decorations and lights in the city. We went over to see the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller center and that’s when I knew that this was it. I was so nervous from all the people being around, I put the ring on the wrong hand and finger. While all this was going on, we had a photographer snapping pictures. He sent us all the pictures and we did a quick engagement shoot in the busy streets of NYC.”

Twenty guests, including a four-person wedding party, helped celebrate the couple’s nuptials in early September. “Our wedding ceremony was small and intimate. My father married Brit and I and my brother and her sister both played as maid of honor and best man.”

The couple chose blush and ivory for their pop-up wedding held at Tenth Ward Distilling. “The entire pop up wedding was a package deal,l which made it stress-free. Everything was already set up and had our minds at ease so that we could enjoy this precious time together.”

Brittany is a medical assistant and Joshua is an associate scientist. They reside in Frederick.

Mark met Emily at a bar, where she was celebrating her 21st birthday. “My brother’s best friend is also Mark’s best friend, so I invited him to the bar and he brought Mark. I ended up only talking to Mark for the rest of the night and we started dating a few weeks later.”

120 guests were in attendance for their September nuptials at Prosperity Mansion, including a 12-person wedding party. “We had a non-religious ceremony officiated by my AP Language teacher from high school. She wrote the ceremony, we had friends do the readings, and we wrote our own vows. In the end, all of the personal touches made it feel so us. Since we wrote our own vows, it was really personal and special to get to hear them during the ceremony.”

The couple chose to play up the fall season with their wedding decor, using burgundy and goldenrod with grey as a neutral and gold accents. “The entire thing was outside, but neither of us is exactly the rustic type, so we were going for more of a wildflower garden party vibe. Almost everything was DIY, so that gave us a lot of freedom in planning.”

“A pandemic wedding is a whole different ballgame. Two of the bridesmaids couldn’t make it because of Covid, so we got fathead cutouts of them for pictures. We asked that anyone on the dance floor wear a mask. We got an extra tent to make sure that everyone was spread out. But even with all of the changes and accommodations, we still had a perfect day.”

Emily is an e and Mark is a Radar Analyst. They currently reside in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Kevin and Megan met in a high school library over 10 years ago. “When we sat across from each other, we had no idea that we would one day marry each other in front of our closest friends and family.”

Kevin proposed to Megan on a hike at the Monocacy Aqueduct with their dog, Max. “I didn’t know was that Max’s vest contained an engagement ring Kevin had picked out weeks before. We walked for a while and eventually stopped to take pictures as a family. Instead of setting a timer for our camera, Kevin pressed play and got the entire proposal on camera.”

75 guests attended their August nuptials, including a 12-personal wedding party. “A few raindrops fell as we read our vows, but no one remembers those drops. Everyone, however, remembers the teardrops falling from Kevin’s face – he was a little emotional. We were announced husband and wife, we kissed, and our niece made the entire crowd laugh by screaming, ‘runaway groom!’”

The couple chose burgundy and champagne for their wedding decor colors. “We wanted our guests to feel welcomed, but most importantly, we wanted our guests to feel safe because of COVID-19 concerns. This was a very important event for our families and many hours went into making the day possible.” The two left the venue via a sparkler send-off.

Megan is a counseling intern at FCPS and Kevin is a paralegal. They currently reside in Frederick.

Tyler proposed to Tessa on Halloween in 2018. “After the proposal, I called my family and told them the awesome news and I was met with confusion. It was only then they told me that there was a plan for Tyler to propose that following weekend at a winery and all my family and friends would be there to pop out and surprise me and celebrate. Then Tyler confessed that he had picked up the ring that day and just couldn’t wait any longer.”

Eighty-five guests were in attendance for their July nuptials, including a twelve-person wedding party.
Our ceremony was officiated by my brother. It was really great and heartfelt because no one knows us better. It was super special to have him in that role on our day.”

The couple chose a floral garden wedding theme with lots of blush and greenery. “We didn’t really focus on a theme, we just wanted the day to be about our celebration with family and friends.“

Tessa and Tyler wanted to make sure their two dogs were a part of the day and had drink cozies make with their faces. “We had a sparkler exit at the end of the night and had a ‘fake exit’ in my dad’s 1971 Pontiac Grandville with a ‘Just Married’ banner on the back. We stayed at the Antrim that night and had drinks at the bar with friends and family, which was a nice extension to the celebration.”

Tess works at St. John Properties and Tyler is a shop foreman at Canyon Contracting. The couple currently resides in Frederick.

Devynn and James met in 2014, while both attending Anne Arundel Community College. “I saw James working the desk at the computer lab. After that, I began frequenting the computer lab trying to figure out how to approach him. I was having trouble with Excel so I figured I could ask for help without sounding silly. James helped as best he could until a coworker of his ended up completing the project for me while James and I got to know more about each other. By the time my project was complete, I had missed my class and turned in the project late but continued talking to James. He started coming to my softball games not long after that and we began dating.”

James proposed in January of 2019, after being together for four years. “We were at Orioles Fanfest taking a tour of the clubhouse. The tour ended on the field. He waited until we got in front of home plate to start the build-up to the proposal where I stood anxiously waiting to accept.”

75 guests were in attendance for their July wedding in Thurmont, including a twelve-person wedding party. “We had an outdoor Christian ceremony using traditional vows. There was either a heron or kite bird that flew over during the ceremony that was really pretty. I am hoping that it means good luck.”

The couple chose a baseball and softball theme for their decor, using green as the main color, and incorporating ivory and sand. “The flowers were wildflowers and had many different colors in the bouquets and boutonnieres. My husband had orange flowers in his for his favorite color.”

“Other than having a baseball theme, we also wanted it to feel like a fairytale and I definitely wanted to be a princess. So the wedding party looked formal in tuxedos and long dresses but the guests were more business casual. When trying to describe it, I feel like it sounds like we were all over the board but it was envisioned and carried out perfectly! The lodge and mountains added such a magical quality about it that it all intertwined even better than imagined.

“We had a cowbell send-off. Our guests were surprised. It actually wasn’t as loud as you may think, but it was really fun.”

Devynn is a second-grade teacher and James is a computer systems architect. They currently reside in Pasadena, Maryland.

Matt and Haley met on Tinder. “At first I didn’t believe that he was actually a real person because of some of the comments he would make. I would soon learn that he was just a naturally funny and sarcastic guy. We had our first date at a small bar in Westminster and talked non-stop all night.”

Matt proposed during a winter photoshoot that his mother had set up. “Matt didn’t tell anyone that he had planned to propose during the shoot, but was hoping his mom could capture my genuine reaction and the moment. When Matt got down on one knee, he said, ‘Are we getting married or what’ in true Matt fashion. His thoughtfulness to capture that in photos for us was the greatest gift. I’m so happy I can look back at the exact moment our lives changed forever.”

140 guests, including a 12-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their September nuptials at Ceresville Mansion. “Our wedding ceremony was very special because my grandfather was our officiant. From the music to my grandfather, to seeing my handsome Marine as I walked down the aisle, was truly the most beautiful thing.”

The couple chose a semi-formal theme for their wedding. “We wanted our guests to be comfortable in case it was a hot September day, but to also class it up some for the elegant vibe Ceresville Mansion gives off. We didn’t have a specific theme, but our colors were wine, champagne, and soft green. I enjoyed the small details of the wedding. The signs that were handmade, the donut stand Matt made, and the candles my mom and I made. The personal touches are some of my favorites.”

Matt is a Marine and a mason. Haley is an embryologist. They currently reside in Westminster, Maryland.

Crystal met Michael through his sister at a college party. “We had been together for about eight years before getting engaged in 2019.”

Michael proposed on a helicopter ride above Baltimore. “Mike asked if I wanted to go on a helicopter ride that his friend from work had bought on Groupon and wasn’t able to use. I didn’t suspect anything. As we were flying over Baltimore city at night all lit up Mike turned to me and said ‘Crystal Marie Perry, will you marry me?’ It was beautiful, magical, and totally unexpected. He really surprised me which doesn’t happen often.”

125 guests, including a nine-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their October nuptials at Glen Ellen Farm. “We had a short outdoor ceremony with our family and friends. A family friend got ordained online to marry us and it made the day even more special.”

The couple chose a rustic fall theme for their wedding decor. “We wanted a laid-back feel but still elegant. We went with soft colors, sage with accents of cream and gold. Small touches of fall with little pumpkins for decorations, wood touches for the rustic feel, and the venue provided the outdoor vibe we wanted. We had a s’mores bar at the fire pit for our guests. We exited our wedding through a line of sparklers held by all our dearest family and friends.”

Crystal is an ICU nurse and mike is a project manager. They currently reside in Baltimore.

Zittle: Celebrating 62 Years of Marriage

Douglas and Virginia Zittle will celebrate 62 years of marriage on Saturday, October 17^th. They were married on Friday, October 17, 1958 at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, Maryland.

They have three children, Douglas Jr. and wife Michele, David, and Joyce Renner and husband Edward. They have three grandchildren, Kristen (Zittle) Leadore and husband Andrew, Jena Zittle and finance Chris Watts and Ryan Renner. One great-granddaughter Mackenzie Mae Leadore.

Doug retired from the Frederick News-Post after 42 years.

Danielle and Mike met ten years ago and were high school sweethearts. “I was a sophomore and Mike was a senior when we met and we’ve been together ever since.”

Mike’s proposal began when he surprised Danielle with a date to the Rusty Scupper in the Inner Harbor. “I had no idea what was coming. He reserved us the most beautiful table overlooking the water and then when dessert came, he fumbled in his coat pocket and he got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Our server knew and took pictures as he got down on his knee. And then the whole restaurant started clapping for us. It was perfect.”

One-hundred and fifty guests, including a fourteen-person wedding party helped the couple celebrate their October 2019 nuptials at Linganore Winecellars. “It was an outside ceremony overlooking the vineyards. It was right before sunset in the most picture-perfect setting. The weather was perfect.”

Danielle and Mike chose a rustic barn theme to compliment the venue. “The color palette was burgundy with sunflowers and the groomsmen wore navy blue. “The day was filled with so much happiness and dancing. It was a big reunion of family and lifelong friends. We literally danced the entire night away with all of our closest friends and family. We had all of our guests waive glow sticks as we left the reception.”

Danielle is a contract administrator for a small government contractor and Mike is a low-voltage technician for Vintage Security. They currently reside in Eldersburg.

Eason-Whibley Wedding

Mari Erin Eason and Robert Lewis Whibley were married on Feb. 29 in an intimate ceremony, performed by the bride’s brother, at their family home in New Market. An open house style reception followed at Hollywood Casino in Charlestown, West Virginia.

Robert and Mari met at a wedding over twenty years ago – Robert’s! (And she was the maid of honor!) Over two decades later Mari looked him up, and things just fell into place. The unique path their lives and relationship have taken dictated a unique day to be wed; hence Leap Day was chosen.

Attending the auspicious and propitious couple included the officiant, Devon Eason (brother of the bride), and Alice (8) and Olivia Grider (10) , daughters of the bride.

After the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Eason reside in Frederick with their daughters. As Army veterans, both the bride and groom will use their medical education and deployment experience helping other Veterans in need. Also, Mr. Eason plans to salute his wife every day; she outranks him!

November Holiday Ceresville Mansion Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Samantha and Joseph

Samantha and Joseph met while working at a restaurant and both attending Frostburg State University. “We were good friends for two years before he decided to make his move in 2014.”

The couple dated for four years before Joseph proposed in 2019. “I knew I met the girl I was supposed to marry long before the actual proposal. We had only been dating for a few weeks and were driving from Frostburg to Silver Spring for me to meet her family and I just knew. Everything just felt right being with her.”

One hundred and fifty guests, including a twelve-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their November nuptials at Ceresville Mansion. “We asked a family friend to marry us. We loved having someone we knew to join us as husband and wife. Joe and I were in our world and felt like we were the only two in the room. After we had our first kiss, My uncle and cousin performed the ceremony music as we walked out holding hands with the biggest smiles.”

The couple went for a timeless semi-formal feel with a “splash of holiday magic” for their wedding theme. “The holidays are my favorite time of the year. The mansion had all the wood-burning fireplaces going, candles, a Christmas tree in the front entrance, twinkly light Christmas trees for the reception, and the pergola was decorated with greenery and garland.”

Joseph is a financial management analyst and Samantha is a data sustainment specialist. They currently reside in Walkersville.

Downtown Frederick Fall Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Morgan + Alex

Morgan and Alex met online and met in person at JoJo’s Restaurant. “We have been together ever since.”

Alex proposed after a concert at the Weinberg. “We went to our favorite local bar, Olde Towne, after the show. We were both tired but had a beer to end the night. When the tab came, an old matchbox was on top of the check. I was confused, but opened it and turned around and Alex was down on one knee, while karaoke was happening in the background. Alex was not expecting Karaoke that night, but it makes the story even better.”

One-hundred twenty-five guests were in attendance for the October 2019 outdoor wedding. “Our ceremony was on Carroll Creek. It was perfect for friends and family with the built-in seating and easy access, along with great views.”

The couple hosted a reception at Tenth Ward. “We didn’t have a theme- we used greenery and dark flowers and our own growlers from travels to breweries for centerpieces. We loved keeping everything downtown-we live downtown and spend the majority of our free time there.”

Alex is an attorney with the Public Defenders office and Morgan is a program analyst with NCI Frederick. The couple currently resides in Downtown Frederick.

Ashley and Chad met through mutual friends three years ago. “We had the same friends for years and when we got together we realized how many times our paths crossed or just barely did in the years leading up to our first date.”

In the summer of 2018, Chad worked with a local escape room to plan the perfect proposal. “He added his own clue into the mix, and let’s just say it was the best treasure I could have found.”

One hundred and eighty guests, including a ten-person wedding party, joined the couple in celebrating their October 2019 nuptials. “A local ukulelist played the ceremony music by the pond while we said our vows under a whimsical arch in front of the pond’s fountain.”

The couple chose a “down-to-earth, laid- back feel” for their wedding decor. “Our guest book was one of my favorite details. Each guest was to took a stone to hold during the ceremony to soak in the good vibes, well wishes, and love. At the reception, they were to put their name on their rock and drop it in the mason jars provided. It’s now a decoration in our living room that I love looking at every day.”

Ashley is the director of operations at a Goddard School and Chad works in sales. They currently reside in New Oxford, Pennsylvania.

September Dulaney’s Overlook Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Taylor + Eric

Eric and Taylor met in high school at a friend’s home. “I know it sounds cliche, but as soon as he walked in I knew I was going to date him. My dad was extremely sick when we started dating and Eric helped out my family. He would cook dinners, go grocery shopping, and take my younger brothers anywhere and everywhere.”

A few years later, the couple purchased a home in Frederick and decided to have a house warming party. “We wanted to show everyone our house and that’s when Eric got down on one knee, in front of all of our friends and family.”

One hundred fifteen guests, including a sixteen-person wedding party, joined the couple in celebrating their nuptials at Dulaney’s Overlook in September 2019.

“Eric’s uncle married us. Everything was written by us. It was short, sweet, and simple. My youngest brother was graduating from the Anne Arundel Fire Academy that night and couldn’t stay after the ceremony. We decided to surprise him and have him come up and be recognized by everyone. Probably my favorite part of the ceremony was having him being such a big part.”

The couple wanted the wedding decor to be simple and organic. “It was laid-back. I had four different bridesmaid dresses in all different colors and styles. We had in-season greenery and bouquets.”

At the reception, the couple had a fire pit with s’mores, corn hole boards, and a large Jenga game. “I wanted people to have something to do if they didn’t enjoy dancing. There was something to do for everyone!”

Taylor is a second-grade teacher at Monocacy Elementary and Eric is a production manager at G3 Technologies. The couple currently resides in Frederick.

Lauren and Adam “met in the most millennial way” through an online dating website. “Our first date was dinner in Federal Hill. We hit it off right away and knew from the start that an adventure was about to begin.”

Adam proposed on a weekend getaway in Harpers Ferry, which was one of their first trips together years before. “I suspected the proposal was coming, but I was still shaking and crying when he finally got down on one knee. It was a beautiful night with a full moon, and Adam led me down to a deck on the water to pop the question.

One hundred forty guests, including a twelve-person wedding party, joined the couple for their nuptials last August at Stone Manor in Middletown.

“Our wedding ceremony was outside, and the weather was unbelievably perfect. The service was very personal, as we both wrote and exchanged our vows, surrounded by all our amazing family and friends.”

The couple chose a “laid back, shabby chic and fun” theme for their wedding day. “The girls wore light blue dresses, and the sunflowers were a fun pop of color. I also incorporated a lot of lace and burlap. I even had my bouquet wrapped in lace used in my parent’s wedding, so lots of little homemade and sentimental touches. We enjoyed crafting decor and our favors. We made our donut wall for our dessert and made cake stands out of terracotta pots. My bridal party was a wonderful help in all our crafting.”

Lauren is a senior content marketing specialist, and Adam is a power systems engineer. The couple currently resides in Columbia, Maryland.

Intimate Musket Ridge Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Kyle + Allison

Kyle and Allison met at a friend’s graduation party in 2014. “I am the same age and Kyle’s younger brother Logan. We grew up three minutes from each other our entire lives. We have been together for over six years.”

Kyle proposed the day before their fifth anniversary in 2019. “He took me to get my nails done, buy a dress, get a massage, then he took me to Dutch’s Daughter, and that’s where he proposed.”

With Covid-19 precautions in place, the couple only had ten guests, including a three-person wedding party. “Originally our guest list was over 125 people, so when I walked down the aisle, seeing only 1 row of chairs, it was very different than what I had always envisioned. However, it made the experience very intimate and unforgettable.”

“We truly loved having a small ceremony. It was very intimate and allowed us to get the full experience. When my father and I were standing at the top of the stairs waiting for our cue to begin walking, there was a baby rabbit that sat next to us the entire time. She never moved or got scared away. My grandmother passed away in February, and I’d like to think it was a little message from her showing that she was watching. We had our wedding live-streamed for all of our friends and family to watch that were unable to be there with us on that day.”

Allison and Kyle chose a floral theme for their decor, which included a color palette of blush and tan. “We wanted a very summery, floral, outdoor wedding feel. We got to have our ceremony at Musket Ridge with our immediate family and then got to take the limo ride home to more family waiting for us.”

Kyle is a physical therapist assistant, and Allison is a first-grade teacher. They currently reside in New Market.
