Joe and Sarah met in 2015 while attending Mount St. Mary’s University. “We first noticed each other in the Chapel of Immaculate Conception. Our schedules led us to continue seeing one another and finding out that we were both from New Jersey. We started spending more time together and after seeing each other a few times over that summer, we knew the feeling was mutual and started dating soon after the new school year started.”
After four years of dating, Joe proposed where they had their first date in 2015. “I told Sarah that we would be going out for a nice dinner. We happened to arrive early and decided to go for a walk on the boardwalk. A photographer I hired came up to us and pretended he was taking pictures for his portfolio. He asked if he could take some of us and he set us up in the perfect location on the sand dunes. Once he took a few pictures I dropped down to one knee and proposed.”
EIghty-five guests, including an eight-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their June nuptials at the Mount St. Mary’s Chapel where they had first met. “Our ceremony was beautiful with the help of a priest from Joe’s high school. We had all our close family there and everyone that mattered the most in our lives. Our siblings helped by reading the intentions and the two readings. Our close friends performed the music for the ceremony.”
The couple chose a color palette of navy and peach for their wedding decor, which was threaded throughout their reception held at The Lodges at Gettysburg. “Everyone danced the entire night and was in awe at the beautiful ceremony and reception location. The Lodges was the perfect fit for us.”
Joe is a Middle School Science and Math teacher and Sarah is a Kindergarten teacher. They currently reside in Woodland Park, New Jersey.
