Summer Lodges at Gettysburg Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Kasey and Johnathan

Jonathan and Kasey met in high school. “We started talking before we had to go to practice for our sports teams. I played basketball and he wrestled. During that summer we saw each other at the Thurmont Carnival and started talking and he asked me out. We went to the Waynesboro pool on our first date and spent all day together.”

Jonathan proposed at the Gaylord National Resort. “They were having an event where you get to walk through a building that is around -9° and look at a lot of amazing ice sculptures. I had told him that I wanted to go there for two years. I was taking pictures and when I turned around he was on one knee holding the ring. He told me that he loved me more than anything in the world and that he couldn’t live without me and asked if I would marry him. I was so happy and excited. I was so cold in the building I couldn’t even cry- the tears froze to my face.”

182 guests were in attendance for their July wedding held at The Lodges of Gettysburg, including six bridesmaids, six groomsmen, and a ring bearer. “It was very unique having someone in the family who knows a lot about us and who is very close to us officiate our wedding. She told some very funny stories about the two of us that made the ceremony enjoyable and very memorable.”

The couple chose a mint, navy blue and silver color palette for their decor. “We were going for a rustic anchor theme.”

Johnathan works for the Maryland State Highway Administration and Kasey works at Laser Podiatry Associates. They currently reside in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.

May Tenth Ward Distilling Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Kim and Hugh

Kim and Hugh both attended Brunswick High School and met at a summer party. “We have been together for 11 years. Our relationship has been through a lot, from going to different universities, to Hugh moving to Grenada for 2.5 years for Med school, but we stayed together through it all. We had been wanting to get married for years, but we had both been really busy with grad school.”

Hugh proposed to Kim on Christmas Day in 2017. “We hiked up Maryland Heights, bundled up in a million layers, it was one of the coldest and windiest days. Hugh was acting a little strange that day, it was Christmas so I kept asking family members if they wanted to join in on our hike and Hugh kept saying he wanted it to just be the two of us. Hugh set up his GoPro when we got to the top to take a photo of us, and that’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”

140 guests were in attendance for their May wedding at Tenth Ward Distillery in Downtown Frederick, including eight bridesmaids and six groomsmen. “We had one of our best friends, Laura marry us. She had known us both before we were together and was there from the very beginning of our relationship. We also wrote our own vows, which I was extremely nervous about, but I’m glad we did.”

“We loved the vibe of Tenth Ward Distillery, so we wanted to keep decorations to a minimum. The space really speaks for itself. We loved the exposed brick and industrial feel. So we went with a black and white theme.”

Hugh is an anesthesia resident at Cooper University Hospital Center in Camden, NJ, and Kim is an occupational therapist. They currently live in Philadelphia.

Spring Mountain Memories Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Eileen + Chris

Chris and Eileen first met while living in the same dormitory at the University of Maryland. Chris was introduced to Eileen through mutual friends and not long after, they started spending every day together.

“After holding onto the ring for six months trying to plan the perfect moment to pop the question, I took Eileen to a vineyard at the bottom of Sugar Loaf Mountain for wine tasting and live music. Afterward, we proceeded to take a sunset hike up the mountain.”

100 guests were in attendance for their April nuptials, including five bridesmaids, five groomsmen, and two flower girls. “We really appreciated that our officiant took a moment to let us breathe before the ceremony started, and made us take a moment to look and reflect on all those in attendance for our big day. It was overwhelming and wonderful all at once.”

“We did not want a formal affair, so went with a laid-back boho vibe to fit the gorgeous venue – using different kinds of jewel tones for the reception decor and floral arrangements. Less is more at Thorpewood.”

Eileen is half German, so the couple incorporated a German log sawing tradition into the reception. “The crosscut saw we borrowed was quite the antique and we almost didn’t get it sawed through. Since in German tradition this sets the tone for the rest of your married life, this was a bit of a nerve-wracking moment. Chris saved the day by grabbing the log before anybody knew what was happening and smashing it in half over his knee.”

Chris is a heavy equipment operator and Eileen is a language program officer. They currently reside in Silver Spring.

My career started with the owner of a local DJ company, who heard me making announcements at a local Sheetz gas station. She came up to me and said, “Hey buddy, I believe you’re in the wrong business, you should come work with me.” (yes, seriously – can’t make this stuff up). I quickly began training and shadowing other DJs at the company, at the ripe ‘ole age of 19 years. A few years later I moved to DC and started working for WeddingWire, which helped me gain even more insight into the events industry, ESPECIALLY weddings. After all of these amazing experiences, I built up the courage to start my own company – – – District DJ.

I love people and thrive off of their energy, which I return in kind. As a DJ, my greatest satisfaction comes from watching people on the dance floor moving with the music, it is truly satisfying to see people having an amazing time with friends and family.

When I’m not DJing, I enjoy blasting 90s & early 00s jams, playing video games (Warzone or Halo anyone?), visiting breweries/wineries, and hanging out with friends. Even though I’m a DJ, going to live music shows is one of my favorite things to do.

Elvin and Amanda met while both working at the Westview Promenade. “He worked at the Quiznos and I worked for a doctor’s office inside of LensCrafters. We were just friends at first. I guess that’s truly how every great relationship starts. He won me over by how funny and kind-hearted he was.”

Amanda was in her vegetable garden the day Elvin proposed. “I had just come inside with our first cucumber of the season. I was so excited to show him. While cleaning off the cucumber I walked out of the kitchen into the living room where Elvin and the kids were. There was Elvin down on one knee with a stunning ring in hand. I was so shocked I just kept cleaning the cucumber. I even asked if the ring was for me.”

Elvin and Amanda wed 10 years and one day after their anniversary. 158 guests were in attendance, including four bridesmaids, a junior bridesmaid, four groomsmen, and a ring bearer. “It was very important that our ceremony be not only about us but also our two families becoming one. We wanted everyone to walk away from our ceremony knowing how much we love each other, and how committed we are to each other.”

Elvin is the owner of Padilla Master Clean and Amanda is an admissions coordinator for Citizens Care & Rehab. The couple and their children reside in Frederick.

June Mountain Memories Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Alex + Chris

Alex and Chris met riding bikes in 2016. “Our first date was a bike ride on the C&O Canal that December.”

In 2018, Chris proposed on the same route. “He had it in his cycling jersey pocket the entire ride until we got to the bridge where we took our first picture together back in 2016. While waiting for him to set up his camera so we could take a photo, I turned around and saw him kneel down in front of me. I honestly don’t remember much more about the whole event because I was so excited.”

150 guests, including a 12 member bridal party, were part of their June ceremony at Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood.

“We had an outdoor ceremony in the Pine Chapel at ThorpeWood. It was very important to us that our wedding truly reflect our relationship and life together as well as incorporate our friends and family.”

“ThorpeWood is a special place for both of us because it is right along one of our favorite cycling routes. The first time Chris was there, he told me that he knew right away it was the place we should get married. It has everything that defines who we are both individually and as a couple: outdoors, nature, adventure, rustic atmosphere, and kind people.”

Alex is a teacher and Chris is a software engineer. They currently reside in Frederick.

Burgundy Springfield Manor Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Allyson and Chris

Chris and Allyson met in high school. “We dated for two weeks our junior year. We began dating seriously right after he joined the military in 2011. We were long-distance while he was in the Army. He lived in Texas and DC while I lived in West Virginia completing college.”

When Allyson finished college at West Virginia University, she moved to Orange, Virginia, where Chris was attending The University of Virginia. “We were moving into our apartment and when I walked into the apartment for the first time prior to moving our items in, there was a table set up with rainbow roses, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Chris proposed and I said yes.”

95 guests were in attendance for their May nuptials at Springfield Manor, including a nine-person bridal party. “We included a pinky promise after our vows and we planted a unity fern.”

The couple chose burgundy and blush for their wedding decor. “We used geometric terrariums as centerpieces and hexagon marble tiles as place cards. We incorporated succulents and eucalyptus leaves into our flower arrangements.”

While both Allyson and Chris enjoyed elements from each part of their wedding day, Allyson shared her favorite memory, “was the rainbow that occurred during our reception. It threatened to rain all day and it held out until the ceremony and pictures concluded.”

Allyson teaches kindergarten and Chris works as a contractor at the Pentagon. They currently reside in Point of Rocks.

Josh and Sadie met while attending college at Liberty University. “Josh liked to pick on me every chance he got, and for a while, I avoided him at all costs. However, because we had the same group of friends, we ran into each other often, and slowly Josh’s picking on me became less annoying. In fact, I started to go out of my way to be around him. There was something about his witty, fun-loving personality that kept drawing me to him. We dated for two and a half years before deciding to tie the knot.”

130 guests attended their outdoor ceremony at Holly Hills Country Club, including seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen.

“Josh comes from a Messianic Jewish background, which holds many symbolic traditions of faith. We were able to celebrate our union by incorporating many of these traditions. Josh’s father also performed our ceremony which was special for us, as he was able to share a meaningful and personal message. Before our ceremony began, the wooden arch we were getting married under, fell down and broke. Thankfully we have wonderful friends who bought us a tent from Lowes to get married under, which they decorated for us as well. Although it wasn’t the picturesque canopy I imagined, it truly was perfect. It was touching to know we had friends who were willing to help us when the unexpected happened.”

The couple chose white, blue, and sage for their wedding decor. “Our wedding was semi-formal and a theme of a mix between elegant and boho. We love the outdoors and wanted to bring some of that in with lots of green eucalyptus, soft lights, and movement in draping fabric. Finding decor for our ceremony and reception was fun and made the wedding I always dreamed of come alive.”

Josh is a medical statement and Sadie is a graduate student. They currently reside in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Carlos met Yessenia on her 14th birthday at a church in Frederick. “Carlos had gotten my phone number from a friend and texted me a happy birthday. After that day, we quickly became friends and would talk almost every single day on the phone. We began dating almost a year later, not knowing that 11 years later we would be getting married on our anniversary.”

“Our wedding ceremony was done only in Spanish. Most of our family and friends speak Spanish and we wanted to make sure that our family could really be part of that special moment. We didn’t want to do anything elaborate or long, the one thing we knew we wanted to do was to write our own vows. Our vows made our guests laugh, cry and every emotion in between.”

The couple wanted a classy and romantic feel to their reception. “We wanted to have flowers on every table and go for almost a garden party feel. The color palette included light purple, gold, white, and green.”

Yessenia is a personnel security specialist & Carlos is an IT coordinator. The couple currently resides in Rockville.

May Caboose Farm Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Shelby + Stephen

On their one year anniversary, Shelby and Stephen decided to recreate their first date, a hike in Harpers Ferry. When they arrived at the top of Maryland Heights, Stephen took out his cell phone, made a call, and said, “It’s go time.”

“All of a sudden, a pink quadcopter was scaling the mountain. Once it was over the top of us, Stephen gave the release command. A box on a parachute was released from the drone- but got stuck in a tree.”

It took 30 minutes to get the box out of the tree, but once the box and parachute were rescued, Stephen got down on one knee and said, “Today has been an adventure and I want to have adventures with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?”

100 guests were in attendance for their nuptials, including a 13 person bridal party and a very special ring-bearer- a drone, operated by the officiant.

“The past year was one heck of a year in the negative sense. In the course of one month, I lost the ability to walk, was hospitalized for 8 days with no diagnosis, and my father passed away.”

“The ceremony began with my honorary step-mother reciting a poem to honor my Dad. When I walked down the aisle, I did so by myself without a cane or wheelchair. I worked really hard to be able to walk without assistance despite being in a lot of physical pain. Also, I told everyone Dad was walking with me from heaven.”

Shelby described the reception decor as a “pink explosion” that they mostly created on their own. Even their escort cards, which the couple 3D printed on acrylic, were lit in hot pink. Stephen also created their wedding rings, the crown and necklace Shelby wore, and even grew all the greenery for the day. “We had a greenhouse on our porch for months.”

Shelby and Stephen are both engineers. They currently reside in Nottingham, Maryland.

Jason proposed to Carol during a trip to London to watch the Baltimore Ravens play the Jacksonville Jaguars. The couple had planned to take a one day trip to Paris, to see the Eiffel Tower.

“Jason always says, ‘do you love me?’ and my automatic response is, ‘more than anything.’ While in the Eiffel Tower, I’m looking out and the beautiful scenery when I hear him behind me ask me if I love him and I say, ‘more than anything’ and then he says, ‘well, will you love me forever?’ and as I turn around he was on one knee asking me to marry him.”

The couple chose a black and white color palette with hints of green and gold. “Frederick is such a gorgeous area and it isn’t too far from where our families live. We wanted someone elegant but intimate. Stone Manor Country Club has both qualities.”

April Antrim 1844 Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Lindsey + DeCarlo

The proposal happened on a trip to St. Michaels. DeCarlo told her they were headed to St. Michaels to go kayaking.

“He ‘could not find’ the kayak place, so we decided to sit on a bench near the water. A couple just happened to be strolling by, and then DeCarlo asked the man if he could take a picture of us. As soon as he said yes, the guy said, ‘You’re not going to get engaged right now, are you?’ ruining the moment. I looked over to see a horrified look on DeCarlo’s face. The couple left, and we sat down on the bench in silence. The couple came back, and DeCarlo went over to the guy and had some words. I could see the man apologize from the distance and then they both walked over to me. This time, DeCarlo proposed with no interruption, and it was beautiful.”

110 guests were in attendance for their outdoor April nuptials at Antrim 1844, including four bridesmaids, four groomsmen, and three flower girls. “Our pastor was amazing. She really captured everything we wanted to say to each other.”

The bridesmaids walked down to a piano version of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Love’, and the bride walked down the aisle to ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow.’

“We made sure to really pay attention to the food and music choices. We designed it to be a welcoming time for our families to meet and have a great time. Both of our families are really open and welcoming so having just a little bit to talk about really opened up the day for everyone to have a good time.”

Lindsey is an English Language Development teacher for The School District of Lancaster and DeCarlo is a Planning Technician for Charles County. They currently reside in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Intimate Holly Hills Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Ashleigh and Samuel

Samuel and Ashleigh attended Linganore high school together but didn’t know one another. In April of 2016, Ashleigh was out with friends when they ran into another friend who was talking to Samual. “We went out a couple of times but things weren’t really that serious until July when we decided to give the serious dating thing a shot.”

“Sam came home one day and told me he was ready to get married. He didn’t have a ring but he was ready to be my husband. I said, ‘let’s do it!’ A few weeks later, I got home from work and he was waiting for me with a little red box sitting on the coffee table. He got down on one knee and proposed.”

20 guests attended their April ceremony on the portico of Holly Hills Country Club, including four groomsmen and five bridesmaids. “We didn’t set up chairs, we didn’t have an arbor, the columns on the balcony overlooking the golf course and the mountains made for a perfect backdrop. I’m very no frills, so it was perfect.”

“Planning a wedding in three weeks was honestly my favorite part. After the ceremony, everyone came into the main dining room for light Hors D’oeuvres and a wine and beer bar. Then we all headed to a local restaurant where we invited our extended family to help celebrate our wedding day. We ended with a bar crawl in Downtown Frederick.”

Sam is a telecommunications tower climber for MasTech Network Solutions and Ashleigh is an assistant manager at Maxwell’s Kitchen in Downtown Frederick. They currently reside in Sykesville.

September Green and Gold Ceresville Mansion Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Renee and Latoya

Latoya and Renee had been following one another on Instagram for several years, and while Renne knew instantly Latoya was someone she wanted to know better, they hadn’t interacted much on the social platform. “I spontaneously messaged Latoya in hopes she did not forget about me since we hadn’t spoken since 2014. The conversation sparked instantly, and from that day on Latoya and I have been inseparable.”

Latoya and Renee’s father had been planning the proposal when he suddenly passed away. “I knew I had to come up with something that tied him to it.” Latoya planned a dinner at a winery with family.

“When we all arrived, there was a private table for us to be seated and everyone had a quote in front of them in a cup. Once it got to me to read my quote, I purposely didn’t have a quote in my cup, So I turned to her aunt and asked if I could just talk from my heart. I grabbed Latoya’s hand and said, “You know how I always say I can’t live without you? Will you marry me?”

100 guests including three bridesmaids and three groomsmen were in attendance for their outdoor September wedding at Ceresville Mansion.

The couple chose a color palette of gold and green for their decor. “The venue was absolutely beautiful, the pond and pergola sold the venue for us.”

Latoya is a commercial truck driver and Renee is a wedding planner. They currently reside in Baltimore.

Mooney-Fellows Wedding

Jenna Mooney and Jeremy Fellows married on March 29th, 2019 at Morningside Inn. The couple went to Walkersville high school together. “5 years went by and we didn’t see one another- in the Summer of 2017, Jeremy answered a post on Facebook from Jenna and helped her move into her apartment. The rest is history.”

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.

Marni and Jonathan had been living on opposite corners of Meridian Hill Park in DC for seven years and had never met until a dating app called ‘Coffee Meets Bagel’ introduced them.

Jonathan’s family is from South Africa and the couple had planned a family trip there to see the sites and meet his relatives.

“The day before we left, things started getting weird. Jon insisted we go on a double date with a couple that was coming into town from Baltimore, and although I felt like there was too much trip preparation to make it happen, I eventually obliged 45 minutes after we were supposed to meet the other couple. We started walking over through the alley behind our apartment and Jon proposed right there. Turns out there was no double date, but when we got back to the house, my family and lots of friends were there to celebrate. Jon wanted to be able to go to South Africa as an official unit.”

200 guests were in attendance for their September wedding held in the backyard of Marni’s childhood home in Frederick.

“Our favorite part of the ceremony was how we incorporated our families. We got married under a chuppah that my mother sewed and that her siblings each used in their weddings. We also had all 10 of our nieces and nephews parade down the aisle with silly props.”

The couple chose to use greenery as their decor, as well as florals in plum and orange. “The best part of our wedding was being surrounded by our family and friends and feeling all the love. Everyone brought so much spirit and energy to the celebration, especially many of the Jewish traditions we incorporated.”

Jonathan is a jeweler with Mervis Diamond Importers and Marni is a project director at TNTP. They currently reside in Washington, DC.

Liz attended a friend’s party where set Andreas, who insisted he give him her number. He asked her on a date the very next night at a trendy bar in Baltimore.

“I came straight from work in my scrubs and fleece, thinking this would be a pretty average first date. Besides, if he didn’t find me attractive in my scrubs, this relationship probably wouldn’t work out anyway.”

225 guests attended their October wedding, including a 16 person bridal party at Glen Ellen Farm. The couple chose readings and activities from several backgrounds for their nuptials.

“Andreas is Greek Cypriot, and I’m from a background that is half Episcopalian and half Irish Catholic. My grandfather was an Episcopalian minister who married thousands of couples in his career. If he were there, he would’ve officiated – so to honor his memory, my father graciously obliged. Even though it was his first time, he embraced the role like a pro – and only choked up once.”

The couple chose to decorate the venue in neutral colors and fresh greenery. “We made these gorgeous strings of floating glass globe lights that hung all over the tent, creating a little starry night effect. It was hard work, but the result was beautiful and so worth it.”

Liz is an OBGYN and Andreas is a chef. They currently reside in Seattle.

Kenneth and MaryAvery worked together at the Nike outlet in Hagerstown. “The first time we actually hung out was with a bunch of our work friends. It took about two months before we actually went out on our first, official date to grab dinner. He had me laughing the whole time. After that night, The rest was history.”

Kenneth proposed during a game of “dizzy bat” with friends. After blindfolding her and sinning her around, her friends scattered out of the house. Friends held signs that had “Mary Will You Marry Me?”

“Once she turned around and pulled the blindfold off, she immediately began to cry. She was in shock. There I was, down on one knee holding a ring. I had a small “Eiffel Tower” statue next to me- it was Mary’s dream as a little girl to get proposed there. So naturally, I had to make her dream come true in the best way I knew how.”

140 guests, including six bridesmaids and five groomsmen, attended their outdoor October nuptials. “Kenny and I are both very laid back, and we wanted that portrayed on our day. We also laid single white roses down on four chairs, in memory of our grandparents that could not be with us on that day.”

The couple chose a country rustic theme, using the colors gray and burgundy to set the tone. “I loved being able to incorporate some of my grandparent’s antiques into the decoration.”

Kenneth is a forklift mechanic at Alliance Material & Handling. MaryAvery is a CNA at Frederick Memorial Hospital. They currently reside in Middletown.

Catherine and Newton met nine years ago at a summer high school church retreat. “When we were dating, Newton asked me to be his girlfriend at a park in Howard County called Centennial Park. So, he decided to propose to me at the same park with all of my friends and family there, who were holding signs that asked, ‘Will you marry me?’”

125 guests attended their July outdoor wedding ceremony, including a 14 person bridal party. “It was outdoors with a beautiful overlook. We were lucky because it had rained the entire week before, but on our wedding day the weather was sunny and hot.”

Blush pink and navy blue made up their wedding color palette for their decor. The couple served homemade macarons as a parting gift. “The venue’s overlook was beautiful and the reception area at Musket Ridge Golf Club was beautiful inside.”

Catherine is a teacher and Newton is a program manager. They currently reside in Laurel.

Randall and Fallon met at the Carrollton Hounds Foxhunting Club’s Hunt Ball in January of 2016. “I vividly remember looking across the room, seeing him, and knowing that he was the one. It was definitely one of those love at first sight moments that you hear about.”

On New Year’s Eve in 2017, the couple attended Antrim 1844’sNew Years Eve Gala. “That evening, Randall took me outside in the gardens, walked me over to the arbor, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him in the same exact spot that my parents got married over 23 years ago.”

One of the best things we did was take a moment to look around at the people in the room to really absorb the moment and the people that were with us on such a special day.”

The couple chose a color palette of burgundy, blush, and gold for their decor. “I was very nervous about the snow, but the pictures ended up being absolutely gorgeous. We had an absolute blast taking photos. My husband is such a goofball, so we got the best photos of us jumping in the air. The whole day was just full of pure joy.”

Randall is a Senior Associate at Hogan Companies in Annapolis and Fallon is the Public Information Officer for the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation. They currently reside in Westminster.

Melanie and Nicholas met while attending the University of Maryland at College Park through a mutual friend, but found out later they knew many of the same people. “We found out through stories from growing up that we had been at the same events and probably met a long time ago like sitting a table away from each other at prom. We have many stories where we crossed paths, but never actually knew it until recently.”

In the fall of 2017, the couple headed to the Monocacy Aqueduct to take fall photos with their best friends. “After about 10 minutes into taking photos, Nick got down on one knee and proposed.”

150 guests including four bridesmaids and four groomsmen attended their outdoor nuptials. “The weather was perfect and surprisingly nice out for an outdoor ceremony in mid-November. Our wedding officiant was a family member, who was hilarious and perfect for the task.”

The couple chose navy, green, and gold for their wedding decor. “Our whole wedding day was about relaxing and enjoying yourself. The cake cutting including both of us getting cake shoved lovingly into each other’s face and the whole night involved dancing and loving those around us.”

Melanie is a technical trainer for Charles River Laboratories. Nick is a career firefighter for Montgomery County. The couple currently lives in Frederick.

Mack and Jan Tuck, of Frederick, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelsey, to Adam Soghigian, son of Annie and the late Harry Soghigian of McLean, Virginia.

Kelsey is a 2008 graduate of Urbana High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Studio Art. She is a designer with Promontory Interfinancial Network in Arlington, Virginia.

Adam is a 2003 graduate of McLean High School and attended the University of Vermont. He is a building engineer with LiUNA in Washington, D.C.

Adam proposed to Kelsey on Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

The couple live in Washington, D.C. with their little Yorkie, Chewy.

Katie and Tim met while attending Salisbury University at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting. “We both played on varsity teams. He played football and I played volleyball.”

Tim proposed to Katie on a trip to Deep Creek “I thought I would surprise him with a great getaway during MLK weekend. As we took a walk to the lake, I was the one who got the greatest surprise.”

120 guests were in attendance for their November nuptials at Holly Hills Country Club, including five bridesmaids and five groomsmen.

“Our vows were mainly traditional, with a few personal twists including promises of laughter, volleyball, and popcorn. It was a bit quicker than most since we wanted as much time on the dance floor as we could get.”

Simple yet elegant greenery, golds, navy, and maroon made up their wedding decor. “Our wedding day was two days after Thanksgiving. It barely broke 40 degrees and poured the entire day. And it was perfect. Everything was inside and looked amazing, and the moody photos we got in the rain are stunning. “

Colleen and Joey’s Winter Antrim 1844 Wedding

Colleen was performing in Philadelphia with the Broadway National tour of ‘Catch Me If You Can’ when Joey decided to take a spontaneous road trip from NYC to see some friends in the show.

“A mutual friend from the show brought Joey to the hotel bar where she introduced us, and we spent the night talking and laughing like we’d known each other for years. The next morning, we connected on Facebook, and the rest is history. Due to the nature of our careers, we spent most of our relationship long-distance, but we are now making up for it in our very small Upper West Side apartment.”

135 guests were in attendance for their late December nuptials at St. John the Evangelist, including an 18 person bridal party.

“It was our goal to make it personal, inclusive, and special for us and our guests. The most important element to me was the ‘Ave Maria’. My friend David Rowen sang it beautifully while my mother and I prayed to the Blessed Mother. I wanted the special bond between us to be featured in our wedding ceremony and it was a beautiful moment that I’ll remember forever.”

The couple chose colors and decor to “create an overall feeling of festivity, romance, and classic elegance. Our overall goal was to enhance the natural beauty of the day, the season, and the people.”

Both and Colleen are actor and singers. They currently reside in New York City.

Shelton-Adler Engagement

Sarah Reisinger and Brian Baker are excited to announce their engagement.

Sarah remembers the day she saw him. She wanted to talk to him but shied away for a long time. As she became more interested a mutual friend of theirs made the introduction. About two weeks after they started seeing each other Sarah had to move two-and-a-half hours away. It was the hardest thing she had to do, but knew it would make or break their relationship. They never gave up on each other and Sarah really believes that is what built their relationship.

After several months’ the decision was made that she would move back. With Brian’s three kids and Sarah’s child, they decided to move in together after talking to all their kids first. The kids were just as excited as they were about this big change. It was really rough at first, they made it and learned a lot about each other in that time.

Sarah and Brian’s birthdays are a few days apart. Brian asked Sarah to make reservations at Final Cut as they both had been wanting to go there. The reservation was made for Sept. 5, 2018, and turned into a day to remember. Deep down Sarah was hoping for the engagement to happen and was fully prepared for this moment. The morning of Sept. 5, they received a devastating phone call, Brian’s mother had passed away bringing all their plans to a stop. After a long day of tears and phone calls Sarah and Brian decided to still go out to eat just to get some food and get things off their minds. As Sarah was finishing getting ready to go out Brian walked up to her and said he wanted to give her a gift. Brian blindfolded Sarah and she was excited, thinking it was a puppy! After getting what Brian needed he asked Sarah to remove the blindfold and there he was on one knee. This was the greatest moment of her life! Brian said, “Knowing my mom, she would have wanted me to keep my plans and live on as planned.” They will always remember and cherish this day forever.

Catherine + Tim’s Glen Ellen September Wedding

Tim and Catherine have been together since they sat next to one another at a Brunswick High School football game in 2009. “Nine years later, we got married. On our wedding day, I wore a ring that Tim first got me in high school.”

Tim proposed at his parent’s home. “I would drive Tim home from school most days. When Tim decided to propose, he planned to do it at his parent’s house because it symbolized where we first got to know each other.”

170 guests were in attendance for their September wedding, including eight bridesmaids and nine groomsmen in a Catholic ceremony. “It was important to us to share that experience with our families. We spent a lot of time together picking readings that symbolized our relationship. We picked our grandmas as ceremony readers, which was extremely special.”

The couple chose ivory, blush, and sage with gold accents for their wedding decor palette. “We wanted a rustic romance feel for our guests. We focused on antique and rustic details to embrace Glen Ellen’s natural beauty.”

Catherine is an attorney and Tim works for the federal government. The couple currently resides in Frederick.
