September Glen Ellen Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Sean + Katie

Sean met Katie at her workplace. “We had a lot of mutual friends, he had an interest in me first and I was seeing someone. Once that ended I made sure to let him know I was single. We hung out one night and never really left each other’s side.”

Sean proposed a week after they purchased their first house together. “We were at home and we were sitting on the couch talking about the house and decorating it. He went upstairs, got the ring & asked. He said it was so hard because we tell each other everything and he was forced to keep this secret.”

120 guests, including an eight-person bridal party, helped the couple celebrate their nuptials at Glen Ellen Farm. “We both grew up in Frederick with most of our family and friends living here so we knew we wanted to get married in Frederick. We attended a wedding at this venue two years ago and I fell in love with it. I told him that day I wanted to get married there.”

Katie and Sean chose a blush pink and navy blue color palette for their wedding decor. “I wanted a formal wedding with elegance. Our day was amazing. Sean and I have the most amazing group of friends and family. Our wedding party was so fun. There was never a dull moment and we laughed all day long.”

Katie is a waitress and Sean is a water quality technician. They currently reside in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

September Farm Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Jacob + Kristin

Jake and Kristin met in high school and attended homecoming together as friends. “We ran into each other on our college campus one day and began hanging out between classes. After several months, he asked me to be his girlfriend. We dated for 6 years when he decided to pop the question.”

Jacob had intended to propose at a pumpkin patch, but a rainy day foiled his plan. “I knew I could not hold on to the ring any longer and needed to find a way to still propose that day, so my now mother-in-law picked Kristin up to go do a little shopping.”

“When my Mom dropped me off at home, I noticed Jake was sitting on our front porch. When I got out of the car, I asked him what he was doing and why he moved everything on the porch. He finally looked over at the pumpkin sitting beside him and spun it around. It read ‘Marry Me?’ I looked up and saw a photographer taking my picture. My family, Jake’s family, and my best friend were hiding watching it all unfold.”

225 guests, five bridesmaids, and six groomsmen helped the couple celebrate their nuptials on Jake’s family farm. “Kristin and I have spent a lot of time on the farm over the years, so we could not think of a more perfect place to get married.”

Their ceremony took place along the cornfields. “Our aisle was a little gravel road that leads to the river. We began our ceremony with a moment of silence for lost loved ones. I had a piece of one of my dad’s blue t-shirts hand-stitched into the bottom of my dress as my something blue. He passed away and this was a way for him to walk with me down the aisle.”

Taking the venue into consideration, Kristin and Jacob chose a “rustic farm” theme for their decor, which included navy blue, red and accents of copper and yellow. “Our wedding day was more than we could have expected. It was really emotional for both of us. When everyone sat down for dinner, a rain shower came through, while the sun was still shining. Right after, a rainbow appeared over the trees. It was so special to see that.”

Jacob is an environmental inspector and Kristin works in human resources. The couple resides in Frederick.

180 guests, including a ten-person bridal party, helped the couple celebrate their nuptials. “We decided to have a non-traditional ceremony – one of our biker friends who is a minister performed the ceremony. We had our sisters and friends involved with readings and songs. We spoke vows to our adult children as well with each other and we blended a margarita for our blending of families.”

Kimberli also surprised Mike with a special ringbearer, who delivered the rings in a dramatic fashion, a hawk. “Mike’s favorite bird is a Red-tailed hawk. His reaction was priceless.”

The couple incorporated their love of motorcycles into their entire day, starting with a ride before the ceremony to High Rock that included 36 motorcycles, to the bride driving her motorcycle to the ceremony, to their Harley Davidson wedding bands. After the reception, the couple invited their guests to join them at a bonfire for an afterparty.

Mike is an industrial insulation supervisor & Kim is a branch manager in a staffing company. They reside in Hanover, Pennsylvania.

Brooks and Melissa met In 2013 their parents bought houses in the same neighborhood, across the street from each other. “We found out that we both attended the same college and were starting our senior year that fall. Once we were back at school, we began dating and have been together ever since.”

The proposal came at a surprise party for Marissa’s mother. “While I was busy planning a birthday party, Brooks was planning to propose. It was a perfect opportunity since all of our family and friends were already there to celebrate. After reading a giant sign that read, ‘Marissa will you marry me?’ and seeing him down on one knee holding the most perfect ring, how could I say no?”

160 guests joined the couple at Musket Ridge Country Club last June, including nine bridesmaids and nine groomsmen. “We wanted it to be very personal. We had a close friend say a reading and Brooks’ former baseball coach was our officiant.”

The couple chose to have bright colors as part of their wedding decor to play up the summer season. “Our florist did an amazing job bringing in all the colors in our bouquets and arrangements. Along with the bright summer colors, we added accents of gold with votives, vases, and picture frames. We also had a late-night hot dog bar during the reception- it was a huge hit.”

Brooks is a sales analyst and Marissa is a queue coordinator. They currently reside in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

DJ and Hannah met during their time at Shippensburg University. “We were neighbors and one night my roommate and I lost our internet connection. So we went over to DJ’s apartment to ask to use their internet connection for one night. The next day we went over to ask what DJ would like as thank you gift. After making him some sweet treats as a thank you, that’s when the sparks began to fly.”

After four years of dating, DJ took Hannah to Adams County Winery. “It was wonderful because we were the only ones there that day. After our wine and cheese sampling, we went for a walk around the winery. We headed to the gazebo, and that’s where I was getting suspicious. Once we were in the gazebo, he reached into his jacket and got down on one knee. Afterward, we celebrated by exploring Gettysburg and having dinner with his parents.”

92 guests including, five bridesmaids and four groomsmen helped the couple celebrate their day. “We had a unity tree planting ceremony, where our mothers gave us soil from our childhood homes to be added to our planted tree. When the time for the rings came, the best man acted as though he forgot the rings. We had a hawk fly down the aisle to deliver the best man the rings. After the first kiss, we walked down the aisle with everyone showering us in red rose petals.”

Hannah pulled a “first look” prank on DJ that they will never forget. “Before the ceremony, we planned on what DJ thought would be a traditional first look. I decided to play a small prank on him and when he turned around, thinking he would see me, he actually saw his brother Brad in a wedding dress.”

The couple chose a “fairytale wedding” theme for their decor, which included jewel-toned flowers. “We were trying to go for a semi-formal romantic feel for our wedding. My older sister made our decorations.”

DJ is a warehouse supervisor and Hannah is a restaurant server. The two currently live in Newville, Pennsylvania.

Yomaira and Sammy met at a friend’s baby shower in 2011. “We both briefly exchanged words when I accidentally stepped on Sammy’s foot. I apologized and we chatted. Two weeks later we saw each other again at a New Year’s Eve house party. We exchanged numbers, and Sammy invited me to dine at the restaurant he worked at in NYC with my friends – Sammy was determined to win me over through food – in which he did.”

Sammy proposed after a church mass service that in remembrance of Yomaira’s father in New York. “December 23rd was a day filled with remembrance, sadness, and grief for me due to the passing of my father. Sammy was able to turn around a day that has always been of sadness for me and my family into a day of excitement and pure happiness.”

120 guests celebrated their September wedding, including a nine-person bridal party. “Our ceremony was officiated by our pastors from our church in Washington, DC. Our ceremony had Christian elements. We took communion and lit the unity candle to symbolize the two of us becoming one.”

The couple chose a rustic elegant theme for their decor. “We went more with a formal feel. Our color palette was navy, dusty rose, burgundy, and gold. Our wedding can be summarized as a big fiesta. A day filled with lots of love and joy.”

Samuel is a Chef and Yomaira is a Financial Consultant. The couple currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Emily and Karan met online using the dating website OkCupid. “We exchanged messages about one of our favorite books. When I successfully scheduled a date with her a few days later, I was both excited and nervous.”

Thair date at a local restaurant turned into a memorable evening. “One drink turned to two drinks, one hour turned to five hours, and as we shut the place down, I knew I had met someone amazing.”

100 guests helped Emily and Karan celebrate their wedding day, including five bridesmaids and six groomsmen. “Our ceremony was officiated by my best friend from high school, Phil. We wrote our own vows to exchange.”

The couple chose a color palette of taupe, green, and navy for their wedding decor. “We wanted the look to work well with the exposed brick and industrial vibe of the venue, so we had wood tables and chairs with simple greenery.”

“Our wedding day was beset by record-setting heat–the moment you stepped outside you started to sweat. This was rather comic at times but everyone survived. The best part of the night was the groom’s dance. He lost a bet and owed me a 90 second Bollywood style dance at our wedding. Most of the groomsmen were good sports and joined in. They rehearsed in the morning and then just before the cake cutting, it was showtime. The dance was delightfully mediocre in skill but full of fun and heart.”

Emily is an English teacher at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg. Karan is a data analyst for Lockheed Martin. They currently reside in Frederick.

Amanda and Dan have known each other since childhood. “In more recent years, his cousin introduced us to each other at a Sunday football get together, and we hit it off. We’ve been together for almost 3 years now.”

Dan proposed at Amanda’s birthday dinner. “We went to Dutch’s Daughter with my family. We got through dinner and ordered dessert. I ordered chocolate mousse and thought something was weird when mine came out on a covered plate. The waiter set the plate in front of me, removed the cover, and revealed the plate with, “Will you marry me?” written in chocolate and my ring sitting there.”

“The weather was beautiful. Our ceremony was short and sweet. My uncle officiated the wedding, which was really special. We also did a short sand ceremony, which included sand from Ocean City, Maryland, the beach we went to growing up and Marco Island, Florida, our honeymoon spot.”

The couple chose a color palette of navy and burgundy for their reception decor. “I think what made our day fun and unique was the people we had there to celebrate with us, as well as stand by our sides. Our wedding party was comprised of our family and closest friends, so they mean everything to us. It was so nice to have our best people standing by our sides to make our day that much more special.”

Amanda is a registered nurse and Dan is a concrete contractor. They currently reside in Manchester, Maryland.

McCrea-Kaarid Engagement

Nick and Carmen first met at Holly Hills Country Club in the summer of 2013 where Nick was a lifeguard and Carmen worked in the snack shop. They started dating in the summer of 2014 and have been together ever since. Nick proposed to Carmen on a trip to New York City in front of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.

Meagan and Josh were introduced through a mutual friend. “We had talked for a few weeks and then decided to meet each other in person. We were both pretty nervous for the first date but everything was so natural. Our conversations flowed so smoothly and we made plans to meet again before the first date was over.”

Three years into their relationship, Meagan had set up a photo shoot for the two of them and their dogs. “I knew this would be the perfect time to propose. I called the photographer and told her that I was planning to propose. At the end of the photoshoot, I told her that I had one last picture that I wanted, then pulled out the ring and got down on one knee. Meagan started to cry and could barely say yes. Having professional pictures of that moment is really special to both of us.”

115 guests, including six bridesmaids, a junior bridesmaid, and 6 groomsmen attended the couple’s June wedding. “Two of our nephews both did a reading and we mixed a red and white wine together during a wine ceremony while our friend sang. It was such a beautiful moment when we finished the wine ceremony and our friend was still singing. We were able to just take in the moment.”

“One thing that we still laugh about on our wedding day is Meagan losing her wedding vows just 10 minutes before the ceremony. I was super impressed that she wrote all new ones.”

The couple chose a color palette of lilac, navy blue, and silver for their decor. “We were trying to go for an elegant but laid back feel. Something that was not only going to be remembered by us but our guests as well.”

Meagan is a trauma orthopedic registered nurse and Josh is a quality assurance manager. They currently reside in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania.

Stephany and Jaime met through a friend from college. “Jaime was in the Marines at the time while I was starting my undergraduate in Kansas. We had a long-distance relationship for a while, but then Jaime finished his service for the Marines and joined me in college.”

Jaime proposed on the day of Stephany’s graduate school graduation party. “Jaime flew in from Kansas for my party and we were simply going site-seeing in DC with both of our moms. As we get to the Lincoln Memorial Steps my mom asks to take a picture of us. Then as I turned around, I noticed that our entire families were standing at the top of the Lincoln Memorial Steps holding a huge banner which read, ‘Will you marry me Princess? Stephany, be my happily ever after!’ and then I look down and Jaime is on one knee asking me to Marry him.”

112 guests, including seven bridesmaids and five groomsmen, helped to celebrate their August nuptials. “We integrated some readings in English and some in Spanish since our guests were a mix of English and Spanish speakers. We also incorporated a lasso ceremony, in which the lasso is placed around the bride and groom’s shoulders after they have exchanged their vows to symbolize their everlasting union.”

The couple chose a “formal, elegant, and romantic” theme for their decor. “Our colors were plum and silver with splashes of greenery.”

Stephany is a mental health therapist -Bride and the Jaime is a financial analyst. They currently reside in Germantown.

Shah Anniversary

Rajni and Asha Shah, of Frederick, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 12. The couple, along with 200 family and friends, had a full celebration at Evangelical Reformed United Church in downtown Frederick. The ceremony was performed by Bibhas C. Bandy, MD.

The couple were married in India on Dec. 12, 1969.

The couple have two children, Rajat Shah and wife Jenny of Buffalo, New York; and Sonia Shah Mezei and husband Saul of Washington, D.C.

They have four grandchildren, Simran, Sejal, Rina and Sasha.

Rajni is an accountant for S & S Accounting and Tax Service in Frederick.

May the 4th ThorpeWood Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding : Kim + Charles

Kim and Charles met through the Navy, then reconnected years later. Charles proposed as Kim was returning from a trip to Poland. “He came downstairs to help me carry my bags up. Once we entered into the apartment he greeted me with a dozen lilies, my favorite flower. Then led me up to our balcony to show me the work he had done. He had hung twinkle lights from the overhead. Then he asked me to marry him.”

90 guests were in attendance for their outdoor ceremony at ThorpeWood in Thurmont this May, including their two-person bridal party. Charles’ brother officiated the ceremony. “We chose to do a handfasting. Our vows were short and sweet and included the quote from Star Wars, ‘I love you’ ‘I know’”

The couple chose “vintage romantic garden party feel” with some “understated Star Wars” decor due to the significant sate of their wedding, May the 4th. The couple designed and created Star Warms-themed centerpieces for the reception tables and included all of our nieces and nephews into their wedding day.

Kim and Charles are both in the military and are currently live in Naples. Italy.

Amanda and Patrick met at Turf Valley, where they both work part-time. “We definitely did not have any chemistry right away. After three years of working together and consistently going out with our co-workers, we eventually started to become really good friends.”

Patrick tried to propose at Disney, but his plan fell through. “When we finally got back to the hotel, I told him to get in the shower first while I was trying to get the TV to turn on. He kept saying Amanda turn around when I yelled back that the remote was not working. After about the third time, I eventually turned around and he was on one knee.”

125 guests were in attendance for their June nuptials, including a maid of honor and best man. “Our officiant was a good friend of ours. We incorporated readings read by Patrick’s sister and we wrote our own vows.”

The couple chose a couple a color palette of ivory, blush, green, and gray. “We wanted our wedding day to look soft but elegant with a rustic flair. My favorite part of wedding planning was actually creating all of our decorations. Most of our decorations were hand made.”

Amanda is an administrative assistant at Colonial Pipeline. Patrick is a project coordinator at Bon Secours Health System. They reside in Marriottsville.

Scott proposed on the couple’s one year anniversary. “He proposed at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown. The Bavarian Inn is very special to me because my parents and my grandparents have both celebrated anniversaries there.”

The couple chose a “romantic and fun feel” for their reception. “My engagement ring is rose gold, so that was the inspiration for our color palette. I was thrilled the way everything came together.”

Robby and Maggie both grew up in Frederick and had mutual friends, and saw each other around town and in Baltimore during college breaks. It was not until years later when they ran into each other at Firestones in Downtown Frederick that he got her number. “He had just moved back from California and I had just moved back from college. We had our first date a few days later back at Firestones and have been together ever since.”

The couple got engaged during an intimate proposal at their home. “We had been watching tv in our bedroom getting ready for bed and when he pulled out a ring box. He timed his proposal perfectly as it was during my favorite time of year, Christmas, and we were getting ready to go back to Frederick for the holidays- so it made it an even more magical December holiday in Frederick.”

150 guests were in attendance for their May nuptials at the Delaplaine, including four bridesmaids and six groomsmen. “We got married in front of a copper pipe arch at the Delaplaine which was decorated with dusty blue gauze and a dried flower wreath. My aunt got ordained so she could officiate the wedding for us. We had twinkle lights and drapes strung across the ceiling of The Delaplaine to give our ceremony a whimsical feel to it.”

The bride designed all of the floral arrangements herself. “The bouquets, corsages, accent bouquets, and centerpieces were all dried flowers that I picked out and pulled together.”

The couple held their reception just across Carroll Creek, at McClintock Distilling. “The dancing at our reception was really memorable. Everyone had a blast and our DJ kept the party going an extra hour because everyone was having such a good time dancing.”

Maggie is an administrative assistant and Robby is a relationship manager. They currently reside in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

August Stone Manor Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Kyle + Laurie

Kyle and Laurie spent three years at the same university but never spoke a word to each other until they discovered they had a mutual friend. “Once we realized that, we never stopped talking.”

The couple went to a Mexican restaurant for their first date. “We arrived at 7 p.m. and stayed until closing, talking and laughing together. Once the conversation was over, we shared our first kiss. That night, I swear I fell in love with Kyle.”

The couple got engaged after three years of dating. Kyle took Laurie on a walk near their apartment, but couldn’t find the right place to propose. “We were just about back to the entrance of the trail when I looked over a Laurie. I finally said, ‘You know I love you right?’ She replied, ‘Of course.’ Like we had a thousand times before. I started again, ‘And you know you’re my best friend. And you know I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’ As I was saying this, I started pulling out the ring and getting down on one knee.”

215 guests were in attendance for their August nuptials, including eight bridesmaids, eight groomsmen, two flower girls, and two ring bearers. “My dad sang Ave Maria. We put a bottle of wine in a box for us to open up on our 10 year wedding anniversary with notes written for us to read. We exchanged our vows then marched back down with the fanfare march.”

The couple chose a color palette of gray, white, navy, gold and sage. The flowers were white hydrangeas, roses, and calla lilies.

Kyle is a Terminal Operator for Motiva in Baltimore, MD. Laurie is an Assistant Manager for Tarara Winery in Leesburg, VA. They currently reside in Frederick.

The couple met four years ago over a Friday happy hour at The Brewer’s Art. Heidi is a 2006 graduate of South Carroll High School, 2010 graduate of American University and earned a Master of Science in Education from The Johns Hopkins University in 2016. Joseph is a 2005 graduate of Walkersville High School, 2009 graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland and earned a Master of Science in Education from The Johns Hopkins University in 2014. A June 2020 wedding is planned in Baltimore City, where the couple currently resides.

Patrick and Virginia met at Champion Billiards Sports Bar almost 10 years ago when Patrick was a bartender Virginia was a server. The couple celebrated their eight-year anniversary shortly before their wedding date.

Patrick proposed in June of 2017. “For my birthday he had planned a trip for us to the beach. Immediately before we left for our trip he proposed on our back porch where we spend most of our free time alone together in the evenings. My birthday trip was actually a surprise engagement getaway.”

90 guests were in attendance for their June nuptials at McClintock Distillery, including three bridesmaids and three groomsmen. “We traded in the traditional wedding music for unique instrumental covers of some of our favorite songs.”

Virginia made many pieces of her wedding decor. “I am an absolute do it yourself fanatic. I loved making the centerpieces, the seating chart, the decorations, everything. Our theme was steampunk-esque, with Vineyard Green, Khaki Tan, and Copper Gold color palette. Our wedding had a very semi-formal feel with victorian style decorations. I’m so blessed to have such a patient husband who allowed my crafting obsession to take over our kitchen table intermittently over two years.”

Patrick is the general manager of Champion Billiards Sports Bar and Virginia is a bartender and the marketing coordinator at Champion Billiards Sports Bar. They currently reside in Middletown.

Kong-Mbimba Engagement

The engagement took place at the national arboretum. It was a complete surprise! A Friend of ours /photographer (Freddy Climaco) asked if we could help build his portfolio. We were taking pictures and in one shot he asked JC to stand behind me. When I spun around JC was on one knee and popped the question! All our friends and family came running out. It was very sweet and will be remembered forever!

Big Cork June Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Neil + Morgan

Morgan and Neil met on a dating app. “On our first date, Neil and I talked nonstop for more than three hours. We talked so long, that when I finally went to look at my phone, I had several texts in all caps from my friend, asking if I was ok and confirming that I was not kidnapped.”

Neil proposed on a trip to Chicago. “He had a surprise party waiting for me back at home when we got off the plane.”

230 guests, eight bridesmaids, and eight groomsmen took part in their June celebration at Big Cork Vineyards. “I really loved that we were able to combine our two cultures and families so well. It allowed us to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be and have such a personalized touch to it. My mom was able to use a piece of her wedding dress to wrap around my bouquet. Even more meaningful, was that the Indian wedding veil was a piece of my Mom’s wedding dress that was sent to the designer in India and dyed to match my outfit. The Christian arch and the Indian Mandap for the ceremonies were made of white birch trees from my Grandparents farm in New Hampshire that my family and I have grown up going to our whole lives.”

One of the Hindu ceremonies Neil and Morgan had during their week-long celebration was a shoe stealing tradition called Joota Chupai. “When the groom steps onto the Mandap, he has to take off his shoes. Then the bride’s family tries to get the shoes while the groom’s family tries to protect the shoes. Neil always has loved this tradition. I recruited a dream team of friends and family that took the shoe stealing very seriously.”

The dancing during the reception was intense and wild. So wild, in fact, that Neil injured himself. “Neil actually tore his ACL on the dance floor. He jumped up during the choreographed dance and fell on it and knew that he had hurt it. Even crazier, his cousin later jumped up and also tore her ACL. They both have now had surgery to fix it.”

Morgan is a high school geography teacher and Neil is a small business owner. They currently reside in Columbia, Maryland.

Downtown Frederick Wedding :: Real Frederick Wedding :: Sarah and Owen

Sarah and Owen met through a mutual friend in Ocean City. “We didn’t start speaking until the following spring. We were both sophomores in college and started dating that summer. Flash forward four years later, in 2017, and we bought our home in Frederick.”

In February 2018 Sarah that an engagement ring was being made but didn’t know how Owen would propose. “Long story short, it was hidden in the freezer at my parent’s house and when they asked me to put an ice cream cake away. I didn’t exactly see the ring or Owen on one knee.”

95 guests were in attendance for their June Downtown Frederick wedding, which took place on Carroll Creek, including six bridesmaids and three groomsmen. “It was personal, filled with laughter and tears. On the creek, we had people watching and clapping. Our fathers were the ‘ring bearers’ and we put a copy of our personal vows in a ceremonial box to save.”

The couple took their decor inspiration from Sarah’s art deco style engagement ring then added pops of purple, navy, and gray. “Our favorite aspect of our wedding was supporting as many Frederick vendors as possible and having the ceremony on the creek was a no-brainer decision.”

Sarah is an account admin at L1 Enterprises Inc. in Frederick and Owen is a software engineer at PROCAS, LLC in Columbia. They currently reside in Frederick.

June Lodges at GettysburgReal Frederick Wedding :: Tyler + Kelsey

Tyler and Kelsey met in a class at Shippensburg University. “On the first day of class, we were assigned groups that we would be working with throughout the semester. To break the ice and get to know your group members, each person had to rank 25 items in order from most important to least important to take to the moon with you. Tyler and I had almost identical ranking answers for each item and got to know each other a little more throughout that semester. Almost a year later, Tyler reached out to me on Facebook to catch up and we realized we had a lot more in common than ranking items we’d take with us to the moon. We started dating a few weeks after.”

Tyler proposed to Kelsey during a trip to Pittsburgh. “We had time to spare before our dinner reservation, so we took a walk. At one point, Tyler stopped us at an overlook of the city and when I turned around to say something to him about the skyline, he was down on one knee.”
100 guests helped them to celebrate their wedding day, including eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen.

“The Lodges at Gettysburg blew us away with their beautiful outdoor ceremony space. It was an intimate ceremony with our closest friends and family surrounded in outdoor beauty.”

The couple chose fuschia and navy for their wedding decor to compliment the greenery landscape at The Lodges at Gettysburg. “We got to enjoy everyone’s company around a bonfire following our reception. It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable day of celebration.“

Kelsey- is a marketing coordinator and Tyler is a construction services assistant. They currently reside in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Sarah and Mark met at the Arts and Communications Academy at TJ High School in 2010. “I transferred there from Middletown High School on the recommendation of my guitar teacher, who turned out to be Sarah’s guitar teacher as well.”

The couple got engaged twice. “I first proposed to Sarah on second street downtown Frederick when we were both 18. She said yes, but, we eventually decided to wait. On July 6, 2018, I ran to the pharmacy to pick up Sarah’s medication and when I returned she said, ‘will you marry me?’ I said ‘yes.’ She asked if I was serious. I said ‘yes’ and asked if she was. She said ‘yes.’”

90 guests, including a six-person wedding party, celebrated their outdoor June wedding. “The ceremony was framed by a large tree in Sarah’s parents’ backyard. It featured our written vows and quite a bit of confetti.”

Mark is a music teacher and Sarah is a visual artist. The couple resides in Baltimore.

The ceremony was held at the church Elizabeth grew up in, Mount Carmel United Methodist Church of Sunshine, Md with her cousin Pastor Bruce Tribbitt of Manship Chapel of Felton, Delaware officiating at the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her brother HM1 (FMF) Mr. Jarred Snow along with her stepson Levi, the bride was attended by her new sister in law Cheyenne Frenz as matron of honor with her sister Stephanie Crigger as a bridesmaid, as well as her stepdaughter Peyton.

The best man was Lothar Frenz, brother in law of the groom, as well as Mark Snodgrass long-time friend of the groom.

Special attendance of the wedding, was Elizabeth’s grandmother, Inez Snow of Sunshine MD who has celebrated her 99th birthday this year. She is a long-time member of the church the wedding was held.

Leeann and Scott met in high school in Rockbridge County, Virginia, but their history goes back even further. “Our grandmothers were in one another’s weddings. We became almost instant friends when we met during freshman year physical education class but didn’t start dating until senior year.”

The couple dated for twelve years before getting engaged. “We both got our masters degrees, worked hard to find our place in the professional world and moved to four different cities together. Once we felt fully settled in Frederick we decided it might be time, and got engaged in our living room on a hot July afternoon.”

“We were lucky enough to have my Dad serve as our officiant – he’s a preacher and performed my two older brothers’ ceremonies as well.”

When Leann and Scott were planning their wedding, they agreed that it had to include Frederick. “We knew we wanted to get married in Frederick so that we could bring all of our family and friends to see our awesome little corner of the world.”

The couple chose Tenth Ward’s Whiskey Hall for their big day. “We actually toured the space before construction even started and signed our contract before renovations were complete. It’s just a gorgeous building, with the perfect blend of industrial and modern finishes, and a badass team who makes everything run flawlessly.”

The couple decided to keep their decor minimal to let the beauty of the venue shine through. “We went for an easy, classic sort of feel and used lots of neutrals, metallics, and candles.”

The couple currently lives in Downtown Frederick.
