The couple met through mutual friends, Mikey and Brittany Geisler. “After the Geisler’s told us about one another, and two weeks of talking, we finally met on a semi-blind date. The four of us went bowling on St Patrick’s Day weekend in 2014.”
Her Story: “I walked into the bowling alley and Mike immediately saw me. In his not so subtle way, he screamed at me to let me know that they were there. Leo’s back was to me, and I knew when he didn’t turn around he was as nervous as I was. I went around the table and hugged Mike and Brit then went right into the arms of the big man sitting in the chair – who sat as tall as I was standing. I felt relaxed right away and we spent the night joking and bowling. After spending time with Leo, he continued to sweep me off my feet. He quickly turned into my best friend and the love of my life.
His Story: “While sitting in the bowling alley with Mikey and Brittany, waiting on Maia to get there, I remember talking with Mike about how this was going to turn out. My mind going a hundred miles an hour! Mike told me to stay calm then we walked to our table. We sat there waiting… because someone was running late…. I heard Mike yell her name. I hesitated to turn around. When I did I was stunned. At first I was so nervous but as we began to laugh and joke around everything seemed to fall into place. Ever since that day I knew it was going to be something special. We have grown so much together since. She has become the best part of my life and I am lucky that she is the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see at night. She is my best friend and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.”
The couple is planning a May 13th, 2017 wedding in Frederick.
