Stephanie and Matt met in 2019 after finding each other on the Bumble dating app. “Our first date lasted over 3 hours.”
Matt proposed in 2021 while camping. “We became avid campers during the pandemic. I had graduated from my Master’s program, and we had decided to go camping with another couple to celebrate. We were at Deep Creek, and Matt proposed one morning at our campsite after breakfast.”
Eighty guests, including a six-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their nuptials. “It was a gorgeous day in late August. I had a bear made out of a piece of clothing that belonged to my mom and had my cousin walk it down the aisle in place of my mother. We decided to do a sand ceremony which none of our guests had ever seen before. Matt decided to sing a song for his vows.”
The couple chose a unique wedding theme of puzzle pieces. “During Covid, we did a lot of puzzles, and we felt that we were each other’s missing puzzle piece. We used light blue and purple for our wedding colors. We had a cocktail-type wedding, not too formal but not informal either.”
Stephanie is a behavior interventionist at a high school in Baltimore County. Matthew works in the IT department for a public library system. They currently reside in Towson, Maryland.
