Leslie and Earl met in 2010 when Leslie joined a pool league team. “That led to a friendship and then after lots of persistence from Earl, we eventually started seeing each other.”
The couple got in engaged in 2020, a few weeks after the COVID lockdown began. “Earl had been hoping to take me away for a surprise weekend to propose, but COVID threw a wrench in those plans. Eventually, he just settled for me finally leaving the house and I came home to the best surprise – a beautiful setup of flowers and a ring, with Earl asking me to marry him.”
120 guests, including a two-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their October 2021 nuptials at Springfield Manor. “It rained for a good part of the day, causing us to question whether or not we’d be able to have the ceremony outside. We held out hope for as long as we could and the rain stopped just in time. The clouds parted and the sun popped through and we had some of the best skies for our pictures.”
Earl and Leslie chose a jewel-toned fall color palette, with velvet accents. “We were going for a romantic vibe with lots of florals and candles decorating our reception. Our wedding planner came up with the creative reception theme of ‘Cue The Party’ since we met playing pool.”
Leslie is a Grants Management Specialist at the National Institutes of Health and Earl is an Equipment Operator for the Montgomery County government. They currently reside in Frederick.
