Mixi and Jon met in their final year of school at Eastern Nazarene College. Mixi worked part-time at the school Starbucks. After flirting a few times ordering coffee, Jon built up the nerve and asked Mixi to a no-strings-attached Chipotle lunch. Soon after, they were dating. Over the next 5 years, Mixi and Jon traveled to Madrid, Barcelona, San Francisco, Naples, Paris, Lima, Montreal, and Toronto.
Jon woke Mixi to take a walk with him and their dog, Norman at his apartment in Boston. The walk was “suspiciously long,” and they ended up at the waterfront in the Seaport district. Mixi sat for a moment with Norman on her lap, and Jon proposed.
The couple had 135 guests in attendance for their late December wedding at Antrim 1844, including seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen. The groom walked their dog down the aisle. “We also had a light coat of snow the morning of the wedding that made pictures perfect,” shared Jonathan.
Mixi and Jonathan chose a color palette of black, white, green and gold for their black tie wedding. The couple incorporated Peruvian food into their wedding dinner, honoring where Mixi was born, and also had crab cakes, a nod to Jonathon’s Baltimore roots. They also gifted each guest Iberica, a type of Peruvian chocolate.
Mixi is a Middle School Adjustment Counselor and Jonathan is a Reporting Analyst. They currently reside in Boston.
