Lindsay and Andrew met online through a dating website. “The first time Andy met my family was at my identical twin sister’s wedding a couple of months after we started dating. We’ve been together for almost six years.”
Lindsay is very close with her family, so Andrew knew it would be really important to have family involved in the Christmas Eve proposal. “They live not far from Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania and I thought that would be the perfect place. I was looking for just the right spot. She knew it was coming sooner or later but had absolutely no idea it was going to be right then. She had the biggest grin I had ever seen on her face. She said yes and we celebrated with dinner at a restaurant nearby.”
67 guests, including a 13-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their nuptials at Antrim 1844. “We are not religious, so we wanted to create something special and unique for our ceremony that was meaningful for us. Lindsay had one of her close friends as the officiant, which gave the ceremony such a personal and intimate feel. We decided to do a love letter wine box as part of our ceremony. For that we each wrote love letters, to be read on our 5th wedding anniversary. We put these letters with our favorite bottle of wine in a box that I hand-crafted.”
“Andy is a really funny guy and during the ceremony, he surprised us all by whipping out a drill and safety glasses and sealing the box while all our guests laughed. It wouldn’t be our wedding if we didn’t have laughter and humor woven into the day.”
The couple chose a fall theme for their October wedding. “We had pumpkins, candles, and hand-carved wood centerpieces made by Andy. Our wedding was pretty laid-back, small and intimate with close family and friends.”
The two served individual boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts as a late-night treat. “We had a sparkler exit where our guests lined the walkway outside the reception hall and held up sparklers as we had a kiss and celebrated the final moments of the night.”
Lindsay is a pediatric psychologist and Andrew is an automotive technician and also operates a small business making handcrafted products. The couple lives in Owings Mills, Maryland.
