Sean and Rachel met in 2018 at Rockwell Brewery, where Rachel was celebrating her birthday and Sean was on a brewery tour with friends. While ordering a drink Rachel and Sean struck up a conversation with each other. Later that night by chance they both happened to meet again at Attaboy Beer, where Sean then asked for Rachels’s number. “We’ve been together since that night.”
Rachel and Sean got engaged in September of 2019. “We spent the whole day hiking around Frederick with our two dogs, ending the day at Monocacy Battlefield. Sean took me to our usual spot along the river on the battlefield where our dogs enjoy swimming and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
“We had to postpone our original wedding plans due to COVID and decided we didn’t want to wait so had a very small ceremony in my parent’s backyard. When the time came a year later to finally have our big celebration I was 30 weeks pregnant. Even though it wasn’t what our original idea of our wedding would be, it’s something we will never forget and made even more special having our baby daughter there with us.”
Rachel’s mother officiated the August 2021 ceremony in a wooded area of Dulaney’s Overlook, which included 100 guests and an eleven-person wedding party. “We loved the beautiful scenery and landscape surrounding Dulaney’s Overlook.”
The couple chose wedding decor that used sage, rose gold, light grey, and cream in its design. “We went for a more laid-back feel since it was in the middle of summer. We had a specialty blackberry mojito during cocktail hour and for dinner had delicious BBQ, which are reminiscent of a great summer celebration, which was very much needed after the year of quarantining and isolation.”
Rachel is a Registered Veterinary Technician in Rockville and Sean is an IT Project Manager. They reside in New Market, Maryland.
