Alex and Tom met while working together at a restaurant in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. “A small group of us hung out constantly after work, typical restaurant life. Somewhere in all of that, we realized we were much more than friends.”
The couple got engaged in November of 2020. “On a beautiful day, we took a trip to a local park on the river. We hiked for a bit and sat on a rock watching the sunset and the full moon come up. Once the moon was in the sky, I looked over, where he had the ring out asking me to marry him.”
One hundred guests, including a twelve-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their September 2021 wedding on the Overlook at Ski Liberty. “Since my father passed away, both of my brother-in-laws stood in his place to give me away and wore his rings on a chain around their neck. It was an honor to have them by my side.”
“We didn’t necessarily have a theme for the wedding decor, but once it all came together it reminded me of something from Phantom of the Opera. Everyone in the wedding party was in black except for the bride, with red roses. It was very elegant but clean looking.”
Alex works in the banking industry, and Tom is the Chef and Owner of Forge Southern Comfort. They currently reside in Port Deposit, Maryland.
