“We choose Strong Mansion not only because of its beauty, but because it has great sentimental value to us. We got engaged at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, which was the site of many amazing dates for us. The groom grew up a couple miles from Sugarloaf Mountain, too. We also instantly loved Strong Mansion’s antebellum feel. It is truly a beautiful oasis escape from DC. Strong Mansion was the first venue we toured, and after looking at many other venues in Maryland, none compared.

Strong Mansion felt very “us”. It is a classic Maryland location, with Southern charm, as the bride is from Tennessee. We also had many details that reflected our love and personalities, which included: Maryland Old Bay & Tennessee Grits as wedding favors, a southern biscuit bar with seersucker bowtie toppers, a Maryland oyster bar, french macaroons since we love Paris, honeymoon cocktails (the Dubai Dancing Belly & the French 75), our “guestbook” which were wooden shoes from Holland that the guests signed since the groom’s father is dutch, a pad lock for the pont-des-arts in Paris to lock our love on our honeymoon, my mother’s veil she wore when she married my father 31 years prior, late night Philly cheesesteaks as the groom went to college in Philadelphia, and our dog as our “ring barker”. The day was full of nothing but love & absolutely couldn’t have been more perfect!”
