For a self-declared “surprise spoiler” Taylor said the engagement totally caught her off guard. “It was a random Monday night in December. I had a happy hour for work that night that I had forgotten about. I called Brian and told him I’d be home a little late. He was hungry, so I asked if he just wanted me to pull up outside the house so he could run out and we’d grab something to eat. For some reason he wanted me to come in…when I walked in the door all of the Christmas decorations were up and my favorite Christmas music was playing. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in the most perfect, romantic, and personal setting. After calling our friends and family, we had an amazing dinner at Dutch’s Daughter.”
150 guests were in attendance for their late October wedding at Antrim 1844, including eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen. “We picked the different parts of our ceremony piece by piece which made it really special.”
The couple chose a vintage theme for their reception. “The colors that inspired us were dusty rose, mulberry, and deep burgundy colors, as well as lots of greenery with gold accents,” shared Taylor.
When asked what her favorite part of the wedding was, Taylor shared, “Walking onto the dance floor and seeing all of the groomsmen, including Brian’s dad with their ties around their heads. Brian was a dancing machine – I’ve never seen him like that. He was having a blast.”
Brian is a police officer in Fairfax, Virginia, and Taylor is a Conference Manager at Access Intelligence. They currently reside in Frederick.
