Kira and Cody met four years ago through mutual friends. “We met at a friends birthday party, even though we grew up less than a mile apart and went to the same high school. That friend ended up being my maid of honor.”
Cody proposed to in November of 2017 at the Gettysburg National Battlefield in front of the Pennsylvania Monument. “He asked me to marry him there because that is where he originally asked me to be his girlfriend. It was a total shock.”
110 guests were in attendance for their September outdoor nuptials at Zigbone Farm in Sabillasville, including a 12 person bridal party. “Our wedding was officiated by Cody’s childhood pastor, which made it really special for him. My maid of honor also gave a short reading of her choice which was really special.”
The couple chose a color palette of burgundy and gold for their wedding decor. “The venue was beautiful. The dancing was so much fun and everyone really came together to make this day the best it could be for Cody and I. We had a peanut butter candy bar because I’m obsessed with anything peanut butter.”
Cody is a first-grade teacher for Washington County public schools and Kira is a library media specialist for Washington County public schools. They currently reside in Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
