Are you even ready for this insanely gorgeous Frederick, Maryland Wedding? We were oooh-ing and ahhh-ing when we got this one! On a perfect October day, Emily and Kyle tied the knot and then celebrated with guests at McClintock Distillery.
Enjoy this romantic Real Frederick Wedding….
Tell us the story of how you two met; how long have you been together?
We met through the wonders of modern technology and had our first date in Washington, DC where Emily works. The rest is history! We’ve been together for two and a half years.
Tell us about your proposal!
After going out to dinner, Kyle took Emily on a night hike to a spot on his property that overlooks Frederick. He knew that with Emily’s fear of the dark, she would be too worried about bears and coyotes to notice the ring he had stashed under a rock or the camera he’d setup to capture the moment.
What was your favorite element of your wedding planning?
For Emily, planning the details of the ceremony and reception decorations – many long but fun hours spent on Pinterest!
What parts of your wedding day were your favorites? What made your day fun and unique?
Our favorite part of the wedding day was spending time with our family and friends, especially those we hadn’t seen in a long time. What made it unique: The outdoor ceremony at Kyle’s parents home – the weather was perfect with beautiful autumn scenery as the backdrop. The family horse (Divot) and pup (Ryder) definitely made for some great photos – everyone loved them!
Why did you decide to have your wedding in the Frederick area?
The groom grew up and continues to live in Frederick, so we felt it would be the perfect place for our big day! In regards to the venues, Kyle’s family recently opened McClintock Distilling Company in downtown Frederick, completing much of the construction themselves. Thus having that as our reception venue made it special for all of us, as it truly was a labor of love in so many ways!
from the wedding planner…
Emily & Kyle’s wedding was romantic, fun and very classy affair! Both the bride and groom got ready at Kyle’s families home. They decided to do their ceremony in a wooded area with the family horse stable visible in the background.
The ceremony was held on a very beautiful sunny day in October. The bride was brought down a wooded pathway to her groom by her father. The officiant shared some playful information about the two and theimportance of their nuptials. Once the ceremony was completed, the guests were ushered to the McClintock Distilling Company which has just recently opened up to the public. This new venue is a brand new addition to the event industry. Created an open blank space for all events.
This venue is also owned by the Hegamyer family and not only have they put all their hard work in creating this brand new, just about to open venue. The distillery has a great vibe to it. It was decorated in ivory and burlap bringing in the classy rustic look. The bridal party and guests enjoyed wine and spirits with a night of love and dancing the night away!
