Rob and Meghan met through mutual friends in 2012. “We bonded over funny TV shows, heavy metal music, and macaroni and cheese. By the end of the summer, we realized we both liked each other more than friends, and Rob surprised me at work and asked me to be his girlfriend. We’ve been together for over five years.”
Rob proposed at the Maryland Renaissance Festival in October of 2017 after telling Meghan, “he wouldn’t do it there since it would be too obvious. He put the ring on fried mac and cheese on a stick and asked if I would be his cheese buddy for life.”
75 guests, including a 10 person bridal party helped the couple celebrate their wedding day in October 2019 at Morningside Inn. “We had a traditional Celtic handfasting ceremony. Our officiant placed our handfasting cords on our hands to symbolize us ‘tying the knot’ while she rehearsed the hand blessing. We wrote our own vows.”
“Laidback and rustic” was the theme of their wedding decor and they chose burgundy, yellow, and burnt orange for their colors. “Lots of mason jars, burlap, and sunflowers.”
“One of the highlights of our wedding was a special guest who attended. Since we got married in October, Rob thought it would be funny to include our plastic life-size skeleton Halloween decoration in our wedding photos. Originally the plan was for him to sit in the crowd during the ceremony, but our guests loved him so much he became the life of the party afterward as well. Everyone took turns dancing with him and taking selfies.”
Meghan is a human services caseworker Rob is a telecommunication tower technician. They currently reside in Edgewood, Maryland.
