Tyler and Brittney hit it off discussing their mutual love for legos on Facebook. Their first date at Frederick Coffee was four hours, “and we never had coffee,” mentioned Brittney.
Tyler planned his proposal for seven months. “The Millennium Falcon Lego set that I had suggested he buy, beginning our relationship, was waiting at home with my ring inside next to flowers and toasting flutes.”
The couple had three bridesmaids and three groomsmen in their wedding party during their outdoor ceremony at PB Dye, which faced Sugarloaf Mountain. 115 guests were in attendance.
The couple chose a color palette of midnight blue and metallics for their art-deco inspired wedding day. During the cocktail hour, the couple served guests a variety of glass bottle sodas from North Market Pop Shop. At the end of the night Tyler and Brittney exited their reception while guests waved green, red, and blue glowsticks above their heads.
When asked about their favorite part of wedding planning, Brittney shared how they turned one of their engagement photos into a Lego mosaic. “I converted the image using a website the pixelated it into brick shapes. Then I counted the pieces needed and marked the sizes and colors and tracked down all the pieces. Some had to be bought from across the world, because they were rare. Then we spent two or three evenings putting it together after dinner like a puzzle.”
Tyler is a Life Sciences Manufacturing Coordinator and Brittney is an Event Manager. They live in Frederick.
