Kelsey and Adam met at a Washington Nationals Game five years ago.
Adam proposed on July 17, 2018. “I was overcome with emotion when he pulled a small red box out of his travel pack in the middle of the crystal clear glacier water of Moraine Lake with a backdrop of towering mountains and giant green fir trees. Other canoers started to notice what had happened and before we knew it, everyone on the lake was cheering for us.”
Ninety-five guests were in attendance for their outdoor fall nuptials at Springfield Manor, including a best man and maid of honor. “We loved the setting with the Catoctin Mountains in the background and the trees still bearing muted fall colors. We decided on a wine box ceremony with a bottle of wine and handwritten notes to each other to be opened on our five year anniversary sharing how we felt at this special moment in time.”
The couple chose a palette of rich autumn colors with softer accents. “We loved the easy flow between the outdoor ceremony and the inside areas. After the ceremony, the Springfield staff provided a special touch by handing guests our signature drink as they moved inside to the reception area for a cocktail hour followed by dinner and dancing.”
This reception ended outside in front of the pergola with bubbles and sparklers. Late-night revelers were invited to linger at the outside fire pit on the patio.
The couple currently resides in Washington, D. C.
