Madalyn and Shannon met at military training in Texas in 2017. “We became best friends at training. We fell in love, both got orders to Fort Meade, and three years later decided to get married before moving to South Korea.”
The couple got engaged in May 2019 when while hiking in Washington State. “We love to hike and Shannon proposed in the middle of a mountainous valley and it was perfect.”
Thirteen guests were in attendance for their January 2021 wedding, including a two-person wedding party. “It was very intimate and all COVID-19 guidelines were adhered to. We chose to get married in Frederick because we love the mountainous landscape and we frequently go there to hike. Holly Hills was a perfect venue for us because they were in a great location and had a gorgeous facility. It was beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for a better space.”
Madalyn and Shannon chose a more formal feel for their small wedding and used burgundy, gold, and navy accents for their decor. “I loved every minute of our day, but my favorite part was definitely seeing everyone I love together since we don’t live near our families, being in the military.”
Both Madalyn and Shannon are on active duty in the Air Force. They currently reside in Owings Mills, Maryland.
