Lauren and Shaun met on the beach at The Outer Banks in North Carolina while they were both on a beach camping trip with friends. “Shaun messaged me on Facebook with the word ‘hey,’ and the rest is history. We were together for three and a half years before we tied the knot.”
Shaun proposed to Lauren in Costa Rica, walking along the countryside.
The couple chose Rocklands Farms in Poolesville as their venue. “It was intimate, with just us and Lauren’s daughter. We laughed and got to be ourselves. It was perfect. We live close by and it just felt right to do something simple, intimate, and close to home.”
Lauren shared that an unexpected guest came to the ceremony. “A cat tried to crash the ceremony and was apparently rubbing itself on my wedding dress without me realizing it. My daughter tried to shoo it away, all without me knowing!”
Lauren is a general manager of an IT service provider and Shaun is a logistics coordinator for a government contract. They currently reside in Poolesville.
