Kelsey and Mitchell attended the same high school but never crossed paths. They met in 2011 when Kelsey, who was attending Towson, was visiting a friend at Salisbury University. “ It was during Mitch’s 21st birthday weekend. We’ve been together ever since.”
Mitchell proposed during a hike in Harper’s Ferry with Kelsey’s parents and their puppy, Odi. “It was a 90-degree day and we were worried we wouldn’t make it to the top. We finally got there, sat on the rocks, and Mitch put a collar on Odi and sent him over to me.
I saw the collar on Odi and Mitch came over and got down on one knee. I’m so happy my parents could share in the moment and that they were there to get some pictures.”
105 guests attended their September outdoor ceremony at Glen Ellen Farm, including four bridesmaids and five groomsmen. “It had rained for two weeks straight so we were scared we were going to get a rainy cloudy day. The sun came out and the skies were crystal clear blue. The ceremony was short and sweet.”
The couple chose a color palette of burgundy, blush, navy, and gold for their decor. “My dad and I made a lot of our decor together – the arbor, cupcake stand, and windows with the seating chart.”
Kelsey is a CPA and Mitchell is an IT Infrastructure Technician. They currently reside in Thurmont.
