Charles and Brooke met at a bonfire in 2012. The couple got engaged on Charles’ birthday in January 2016. Charles set up large signs in a riding arena and proposed when Brooke walked in with a horse in hand, “just as I had always dreamed of.”
One hundred thirty guests, including a nine-person person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their wedding day. Brooke, a fan of Elvis, walked down the aisle to “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” “Our ceremony was perfectly tailored to how we feel about each other, and to focus on the beauty the day was bringing.”
Charles and Brooke chose an “elegant country with a touch of Texas” theme for their wedding decor. “We had sunflowers, blue roses, and cotton galore. Horseshoes everywhere and cowbells here and there.” The couple used a saddle as their guestbook to continue the country decor theme.
The bottom half and the sleeves on Brooke’s wedding dress were part of her mother’s wedding dress. Another part of her mother’s dress was used to create a dress for the flower girl.
Charles is a custom farming and trucking business owner, and Brooke is a receptionist at and barn hand. They reside in Frederick.
