Ashleigh and Zack met in 2019 at their best friend’s wedding. “We had never met, but we were both in the wedding and paired up together and hit it off. The day after the wedding, Zack told anyone who would listen that he was going to marry me. Zack was living in Georgia at the time due to the military, and I was living in Virginia. We would visit each other almost every weekend, and when I was able to work from home, I moved to Georgia with him.”
The couple got engaged in September 2020 at Mount Washington while visiting Zack’s family in Pittsburgh. “We went to the lookout, and Zack proposed. We then celebrated with family. Shortly after, Zack got deployed, and I moved back to Maryland to be with my family while he was gone for 8 months.”
135 guests, including an 18-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their outdoor April wedding at Musket Ridge. “Our ceremony was short and sweet with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains. One of our family friends married us.”
“We wanted a more formal feel, so the groomsmen wore black tuxes, and the girls were in a neutral light pink. It was perfect for spring. We had a phone at our wedding instead of a guestbook where guests would record a message for us. We now have all of our messages to listen to from our wedding day, and it is so fun to relive them and hear from loved ones. We also had a Pittsburgh Cookie Table where we had thousands of different homemade cookies made by family and some friends.”
Zack is a Captain in the Army, and Ashleigh is a Mortgage Risk Analyst. They currently reside in Gambrills, Maryland.
