Andrea and Luke go way back- as in first grade at Walkersville Elementary School. “I followed him around like a puppy dog at the school carnival, and yet he ditched me to try winning his momma’s chocolate cake in the cakewalk. I moved to Wyoming for 35 years, and we reconnected at a party a the Woodsboro Legion.”
Luke proposed on Christmas morning, 2021. “We have a tradition that we hand each other gifts one at a time in the order we wish. His last box to me was rectangular, so I didn’t think anything of it. After I unwrapped the box, he directly took it from my hands. He got down on one knee, opened the box, and said please be my wife.”
The couple married at Luke’s sister’s home, followed by a reception at the Walkersville Fire Hall with 150 guests, including a 12-person wedding party. “My boys walked me down the aisle, and my daughter was my first bridesmaid. Luke was fidgeting with his hands while sitting next to me during the readings- I grabbed his hands and didn’t let go.”
The couple chose a theme of black and white for their wedding decor, and the night ended with fireworks. Andrea and Luke reside in Frederick, where Andrea is a retired business owner, and Luke is a self-employed contractor.
