Catherine and Matthew met on a dance floor in June 2017 in Baltimore. “We actually first met through a friend at a bar and then ended up spending the rest of the night dancing away. After that night, we went on our first real date and the rest is history.”
The couple got engaged during a weekend trip to Ithaca, New York in July 2020. “We wanted to get out of town and have an adventure during a low point in the pandemic. One of the days, Matt asked me to dress up so we could finally take some pictures together at Cornell Gardens and he ended up surprising me with a sweet proposal.”
Matthew and Catherine made it a quick engagement and decided to get married at Antrim 1844 that December. “We loved the venue and wanted to have a smaller wedding because covid numbers were on the rise. We were able to hold a bigger celebration with family and friends in December 2021. I even got to wear my dress again.”
Forty-eight guests, including a four-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their winter nuptials. “Since this was our wedding part two, our ceremony was sentimental and sweet while also comical. Instead of doing traditional vows since we had done that a year ago, we included a top 12 of the best moments of our first year being married.”
The couple chose burgundy, black, and gold for their wedding decor. “Our wedding was semi-formal and was about having a vibe of holiday warmth meets cozy get-together. After our giant sparkler exit at the end of the night, we were fortunate enough to keep the party going at Antrim’s private pub. This gave us a great opportunity to sit around the fireplace sharing drinks and stories with our closest friends and family.”
Catherine is a school psychologist in Baltimore City and Matthew is an engineer manager at Becton Dickenson. They currently reside in Cockeysville, Maryland.
