Emma and Ryan met in the summer of 2012 on a church outing to a mini-golf course. “A mutual friend had given Ryan my phone number and we had talked for a month before deciding to meet in person. After getting crushed by me in mini-golf, Ryan decided to ask me to be his girlfriend- the rest is history.”
“In the midst of everything starting to reopen in 2020, Ryan’s mom sent out a family group chat to invite everyone to dinner Friday night. I was just so excited to finally change out of sweatpants and actually get ready for something. Friday night came and Ryan said he was working late and he would meet me later. I showed up at the house and tried to walk into the entryway door and it was locked. I then walked through the patio door and outside I saw Ryan and instantly knew that the start of our forever was about to happen. I managed to get a ‘yes’ out and we went inside to family, food & wine.”
One hundred and ten guests, including a nine-person wedding party, helped the couple celebrate their September wedding at Holly Hills Country Club. “Our ceremony was personalized to meet exactly the type of couple we are. We wanted to make sure that our faith and personal vows were the highlights.”
“We did a sparkler exit and the sparklers were not lighting- I kept thinking if this is the only thing to go wrong on our wedding day, then we are blessed. Luckily they got lit and the pictures turned out perfect.”
Emma is an Occupational Therapist and Ryan is a construction foreman. They currently reside in Westminster.
