Katy Murray Photography sent us this fun engagement session for Joey and Maureen, who are set to tie the knot in June. Joey and Maureen met in Connecticut while in college. Joey is from Seattle, Wash., and moved to the East Coast to be with Maureen. We asked them a few questions about their story and their advice for other engaged couples:
- Tell us the story of how you two met; how long have you been together? Joey and I have been together almost 11 years now. We met and began dating our sophomore year in college at Sacred Heart University. He played on the football and basketball teams while I played lacrosse. We met through a mutual friend and one evening a group of us were studying and he and I were the last two left studying. I made the move to ask him out and we’ve been together since then.
- How/where/when did you decide to get married? Give us your proposal story. Joey invited my family and one of my best friend to go to New York for a Broadway show and brunch. It was Super Bowl weekend and NYC streets were packed. He and I stopped to take a picture together and after the photo he got down on one knee. Everyone stopped and was cheering for us. I was thrilled but also embarrassed of all the attention. He didn’t mind it at all, haha. We are getting married June 27th at St. Joseph’s Parish followed by a reception at the Hunt Valley Inn. We are so excited to celebrate with all of our family and friends.
- What has been your favorite element of your wedding planning so far? So far, I’ve enjoyed most the collaboration process with Joey in making decisions. He has some great ideas and together we’ve been able to plan something we’re both going to be thrilled with in the day of.
- What advice would you give to other couples who are planning a wedding? Remember what the wedding is truly about… You and your fiancé and beginning the next exciting chapter of your lives together.
