Elizabeth and Jens met in Olney, where Jens worked next door to the restaurant Elizabeth worked in. “He used to come in to get food and would try to talk to me. He ended up asking me out for a drink. Somehow things didn’t work out. After a year, we reconnected and picked up things where we left off. After we became official, four years later he popped a question.”
Jens proposed in Nevada on a trip to visit his mom. “When we were there we decided to go see Grand Canyon. We ended up walking on the overlook. As I was holding on to the rail and scared of the height, he tricked me and said Liz turn around. When I turned around, there he was on one knee and had a ring in his hand. I couldn’t answer the question, so he said ‘well?’ I said yes of course.”
165 guests, including a 14-person wedding party, joined the couple in celebrating their October nuptials at Stone Manor Country Club. “Our wedding ceremony was very smooth and easy-going. We had my sister-in-law perform a song with my friend.”
The couple chose burgundy and teal for their color palette. “Our wedding was formal but laid-back. At the end of our special day, we decided to have a fireworks show. They were spectacular and guests were excited to see them.”
Elizabeth is a medical imaging technician and Jens works in flooring sales. They currently reside in Monrovia, Maryland.
