105 guests were in attendance for their indoor ceremony held at Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood in Thurmont, including three bridesmaids, three groomsmen, and four flower girls.
“Our wedding ceremony was beautiful, even if the rain kept our guests inside. We were married by the pastor from our local church in front of the huge stone fireplace in the lodge.”
The couple was inspired by ThorpeWood’s surroundings and chose a theme of rustic and bold fall wildflowers. Many items were handmade and customized. “The entire day was a perfect representation of our relaxed, quirky, comfortably warm lives together.”
When asked what her favorite part of planning the wedding was, Maddi mentioned creating her wedding favors. “Making apple butter- from picking the apples at the orchard to the many weekends spent stirring apple pulp until it turned to paste.”
Both Erik and Madeleine are government employees. They currently reside in Springfield, Virginia.
